In the regular season finale for both teams, the Golden Gophers will play host to the Badgers. Which top college football picks stand out most? Don't make a mover without reading this article.

Odds Overview
We've got a ton of college football action coming up, and most of the goodness starts on Friday. However, this matchup between Minnesota and Wisconsin takes place Saturday afternoon, and at the moment, the college football odds board indicates we should be in for a very competitive battle.

As of now, it's the Badgers that's favored, as they're 2.5 points despite being the road team. It's going to be interesting to see if there's any movement on that number, and whether or not it creeps up to that key number of 3. A total had yet to have been released at time of this writing, but we're not expecting a high O/U by any means.

Minnesota Golden Gophers
After losing four straight games following a promising start, it's safe to say the Golden Gophers were in straight up desperation mode last week against Illinois, and they will be relieved to have finally got back on the winning side of things. They were able to beat the Fighting Illini by nine at home, improving to 5-6 and therefore having a chance to make a bowl.

Mitch Leidner did what he needed to do against Illinois, and all in all he's been steady this season. He's been good for a 12:7 TD:INT ratio, and he has also proven dangerous with his legs; he's run for close to 250 yards and five additional scores on the ground. Shannon Brooks has been the team's leading rusher overall, with Rodney Smith also mixing in, and KJ Maye has been the preferred target of Leidner in the passing game.

As a team, the Golden Gophers are scoring 25 points a game, which isn't all that great, but they've managed to be competitive thanks to a solid defense that's kept them hanging around.

Wisconsin Badgers
Unable to win a sixth straight game last week, the Badgers ended up on the losing side against a solid Northwestern team. Wisconsin couldn't get much of anything going offensively, settling for just seven points in the loss at home. The road doesn't get that much easier against Minnesota out on the road this weekend.

If the Badgers are to win here, they're going to need Joel Stave to avoid making mistakes and make some plays, and of course the running game, that Wisconsin has been so famous for in the past, will need to find its stride too. This can be a potent offense is everything is clicking, as we can't forget about the playmaking ability of Alex Erickson, who's recorded 858 receiving yards and three scores.

Will the Badgers show up and close out the regular season in style?

NCAA Football Pick
The Badgers just haven't been able to find the consistency needed to match their effectiveness from previous seasons, and as such they've been more difficult to trust.

As far as our college football picks go, we think Wisconsin could have trouble again, this time on the road against a Golden Gophers team that's going to be amped for this home finale. The crowd is going to be rowdy for this game, and we expect Minnesota to match that intensity throughout and gain control, knowing a win would put them in contention for a bowl.

It also doesn't hurt that the Golden Gophers have gotten better quarterback play out of Leidner than the Badgers have out of Stave, another deciding factor. We know Wisconsin has plenty of talent and is a rock solid program, but in this spot we trust Minnesota just a tad more, and so getting the points as a bonus makes it that much sweeter.
