This week in college football betting, we are on the hunt for underdogs who have the potential to not only cover the spread catching points, but has possibilities for SU action also.

After surveying the college football odds at You Wager (bonuses on every deposit), these are contests we think have strong indicators the underdog cannot only cover but win their games outright.

Watch Out For Known Quality Underdogs

One of the things to look for when making college football picks, is identifying teams that have been through the rigors before, against an upstart. These are programs with coaching stability who have worked their way up and are not the flavor of the week or month.

While these type of teams do not always win and beat the spread in this role, they know what to expect and can handle adversity.

Let's start on Friday night where Stanford is a three-point road underdog at Washington. The Cardinal are off a hard fought victory over UCLA, where they contained the Bruins offense and made enough plays on offense to secure the win, while Washington has to scrap at Arizona and needed OT to come away with a W. This is simple, Stanford knows how to win.

Clemson has been flipped from a home favorite to underdog against Louisville, which allows the coaches to play respect with their players. No question Louisville has been fantastic and not shown a weakness, but the Tigers went through this phase and made national championship game and has the benefit of playing at home.

Texas Can Win in Stillwater

The Longhorns are going to face another team quite proficient throwing the ball on the road like California, who handed them their first defeat of the season. However, Texas is much more familiar with Oklahoma State, playing them annually. In addition, the Cowboys defense has been abused by Pittsburgh and Baylor the last two weeks and figures to struggle against a physical Texas offense.

In this rivalry, you also have to consider history and the Horns have won eight of nine SU at Boone Pickens Stadium and will have a real shot at a victory.

Oklahoma No Lock at TCU

Most sportsbooks sent out Oklahoma as a one-point road favorite at TCU and those betting football quickly chased the Sooners to -3.5. Of course conventional thinking is there is no way Oklahoma can start 1-3 and the Horned Frogs lost at home to Arkansas, who just defeated by Texas A&M 45-24 and Gary Patterson's team has yet to play an complete game this season.

But TCU has given better Bob Stoops team more problems and with Oklahoma not necessarily a confident team at the juncture, if the Horned Frogs just stay with the Sooners, they could make them nervous in the fourth quarter and TCU with its offense could move to 7-0 ATS after scoring 31 or more points in three straight contests.

Doug's Record For These Upset Plays (4-4-1 ATS)
