Brian Kelly has done a masterful job in bouncing back after a loss in his coaching career, which will lead Notre Dame to an easy ATS victory over Navy.

Uphill Climb
Notre Dame landed in the No. 10 spot in the first of seven Top 25 rankings compiled by a 12-member selection committee, which is important to consider when looking over the Week 10 college football odds, as it looks to bounce back from a 31-27 defeat to defending national champion Florida State on Oct. 18.

Fighting Irish defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder is the key to handicapping this matchup, as he hasn’t prepared for a triple-option rushing attack since 2004.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the program is 12-0 SU and 4-8 ATS as favorites of 10.5 to 21 points, with no clear edge in terms of the betting total (6-6 Over/Under).

Building Momentum
Navy has won back-to-back games for the second time this season, which can’t be ignored when making your NCAA football betting picks, especially since quarterback Keenan Reynolds established a career high by running for 251 yards in last week’s 41-31 home win over San Jose State.

The Midshipmen rank second in the country in averaging 352.3 rushing yards per game, but they’ll face off against a stop unit that sits behind just 11 teams in defending the run.

Since the start of the 2012 campaign, the squad is 6-8 SU and 8-6 ATS when getting points.

Control the Football
The Fighting Irish haven’t had to punt in five of their last nine meetings against the Midshipmen, which could end up being the case at FedExField in Landover, MD, as signal-caller Everett Golson is averaging 319.3 total yards of offense per game.

Notre Dame has been in command of its games this season, as it has held a lead on the scoreboard in 60.1 percent of its time on the field, while trailing for just 11.7 percent.

Limiting Turnovers
The Midshipmen have lost or been tied in the turnover battle in nine consecutive games, which isn’t a good trend when considering they’ve also dropped their last 20 meetings in this rivalry when the Fighting Irish are ranked in the Top 10.

Navy has also worn down over the course of play in games this year, as it has been outscored by a 79-47 margin in the fourth quarter.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Fighting Irish as one of their main college football picks of the weekend, as Kelly has gone 4-0 SUATS off a loss and coming off a regular season bye week in his coaching career.
