Washington State is a desperate team entering Week 9, which makes it a dangerous home underdog when looking over the College Football betting lines against Arizona.

A Difficult Loss
Arizona suffered its first setback of the season in dropping a 28-26 decision to the USC Trojans as one-point home favorites Oct. 11, as it won the statistical battle for the sixth consecutive contest to open up the year.

The Wildcats opened up as four-point road favorites in the betting market Sunday afternoon, but early action has driven that number downward, which isn’t surprising due to the underdog covering the number in nine of the last 11 meetings in this Pac-12 Conference series.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the program is 10-11 SU and 8-13 ATS versus conference foes, with the 'over' going 11-10 in that situation.

Going Bowling
Washington State needs to win four of its last five games if it intends to land a bowl bid for a second consecutive year, as it earned a spot in the postseason for the first time since 2003 a season ago.

The Cougars are 2-5 SU and 3-4 ATS through seven contests, which is important to consider when making your College Football predictions, but three of those defeats have come by a single score.

During head coach Mike Leach’s three years in Pullman, the team is 4-11 SU and 9-6 ATS off a loss against a Pac-12 rival.

Common Opponents
One of the biggest reasons why the Wildcats are expected to win this game is the simple fact that they won their two games against California and Oregon, while Saturday’s home underdog dropped both of its meetings with those common opponents.

Arizona struggled to put its first loss in the rear view mirror in its first two years under Rich Rodriguez, as it has led to losing streaks each time.

Halliday Season
The Cougars should be properly motivated after enjoy their first week off in 2014, especially with senior Connor Halliday being on pace to set numerous records at the quarterback position, as he enters leading the country in passing yards and touchdowns.

Halliday completed 39-of-53 passes for 319 yards and two touchdowns with an interception in last year’s 24-17 win as 11-point road underdogs on College Football odds against Arizona—snapping a five-game losing streak in the series.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Cougars as one of their top College Football picks of the weekend, as the Wildcats are 1-5 SUATS when the betting line is between +3 and -3 since Rodriguez arrived in Tucson.
