The college football season arrives at a new stage, and that means teams are running out of opportunities to get the best possible bowl invitation. Check our college football picks.

Louisville Cardinals vs. Pittsburgh Panthers
This is a game in which the Panthers should be able to establish and maintain the upper hand. Pittsburgh was reeling after getting smacked around by both North Carolina and Notre Dame. The Panthers then got healthy this past weekend when they played a Duke team whose offense has been limited by a lack of good quarterback play. The Panthers should be thankful that they are playing this year’s Louisville team. Two seasons ago, the Cardinals had Teddy Bridgewater, but this season – a lot like the last one – the Cardinals have used multiple quarterbacks in a confused and disorganized situation under head coach Bobby Petrino. It is the case that Petrino is considered one of the best quarterback coaches in the country, but at Louisville, he has not yet found the right leader for his offense. The whole season has been a struggle for the Cardinals, so Pittsburgh should find this matchup favorable. Its defense should be able to win this matchup and keep Louisville from hitting any big plays. The game might not be high scoring, but Pittsburgh should come out of it on the right side. Take the Panthers.

LSU Tigers vs. Ole Miss Rebels
The key point to make here is that LSU coach Les Miles is, according to many people, coaching for his job. This comes from the state of Louisiana and the local papers in and around the LSU program. Miles has upset some boosters with a lack of offense and November losing streaks which leave a bad taste near the end of the season. Some frustrations from moneyed people in the program appear to be boiling over, so Miles might have to win at least one of his next two games, if not both, to keep his job. This is a lot of rumor and speculation, but if LSU loses here, it means that Miles will face a lot more pressure the following week against Texas A&M. There is real pressure on Miles to win this game, regardless of whether he’ll come back next season or not. That should be enough to pressure the Tigers to win this game for their coach. Take LSU here with your college football picks.

Memphis Tigers vs. Temple Owls
It’s true that Memphis has lost two games in a row. However, the Tigers were leading Houston, 34-14 in the fourth quarter of last week’s game. They played well most of the way, but then collapsed. If Memphis can pick itself back up mentally, the Tigers have a lot more offensive talent than Temple, which has a much smaller margin for error. In what is basically a pick-‘em game, take Memphis to cover the college football odds.

College Football Pick: Memphis -1 at Pinnacle
