The college football season moves into the fourth weekend of October, and It’s really a good day to focus on betting avenues, and these three games on the card are worth taking a longer look at.

Tennessee Volunteers vs. Alabama Crimson Tide
Odds:
Alabama -15.5
This is a game in which the favored team should certainly win the game outright, but might have a genuinely difficult time covering the number. Tennessee’s season was just about dead when the Volunteers were down 24-3 to Georgia a few weeks ago. However, Tennessee came back to win that game, and as a result, you should see a very confident team taking the field against Nick Saban and the defending SEC champions. Tennessee-Alabama is a fierce and old rivalry. It truly does fit the description of “throw all the records out the window when these two teams play.” The favorites don’t necessarily lose, but they often struggle. Alabama’s 2009 national championship team barely survived a weak Tennessee team at home. Other games in the recent years of this series have been uncomfortably close for the team which was expected to win big. Tennessee is not experienced enough or skilled enough on offense to win this game, but the Volunteers are facing an Alabama offense which has not been very consistent. The Crimson Tide needed three defensive touchdowns last week to comfortably beat Texas A&M. If the offense had to do all the work, the Tide might have been involved in a very close game at the end of regulation. This feels like a game Alabama will win by seven to 10 points. Take the Vols against the College Football Odds.

Kansas State Wildcats vs. Texas Longhorns
Odds:
Texas -4
The Kansas State Wildcats surprised a lot of people in a bad way last week. They rolled over and played dead against the Oklahoma Sooners, getting trucked in a game which was over before halftime. This is understandably leading a lot of people to bet against them this week. Texas, a team which has struggled for much of the season, is a four-point favorite. Yet, if you go through the recent history of the Kansas State-Texas series, you will see that Bill Snyder has given Texas problems. Few coaches in the Big 12 have been harder for Texas to beat than Snyder, who is still going strong in his mid-70s on the sidelines. Texas did play well against Oklahoma, but that was a rivalry game. This is a game in which Kansas State will want to erase the humiliation of the past week. Take Kansas State with your College Football Picks.

Wisconsin Badgers vs. Illinois Fighting Illini
Odds:
Wisconsin -6.5
It’s true that Illinois beat Nebraska at home, but that was a game in which Nebraska failed to manage the clock and gave Illinois a chance to win it really didn’t deserve. The Illini are not as tough at home as you might think. Wisconsin is much tougher in the trenches and should win going away in the second half.
