The UCLA Bruins rebounded from a 40-37 loss to Fresno State and took down Stanford, on the road 35-24. That win kept UCLA ranked in the Top 25 as they’re currently ranked 20 in the AP Poll. Meanwhile, Arizona State has also started 3-1 on the season and are coming off a solid victory over Colorado, 35-13. The Sun Devils lone loss came against the BYU Cougars, who are also ranked, 27-17.

Arizona State has one of the better offensive lines in college football and have helped the offense gain 437.8 yards per game this season with a balanced attack with rushing and passing.

Jayden Daniels hasn’t been the greatest quarterback for Arizona State but has thrown for 808 yards including two touchdowns and three interceptions. The pass protection has helped Daniels perform better and the run game has been lights out behind senior running back Rachaad White, who is averaging nearly five yards per carry this season.

On defense, the Sun Devils have been incredible, allowing just 16 points per game and 247.5 yards per game. There’s really no weakness so far when it comes to the Sun Devils on the defensive end. The coverage has been fantastic, allowing just 124.3 yards per game in the air. The Bruins, on the other hand, are averaging 39 points per game and no defense has been able to stop this offense yet this season.

They’re averaging 428 yards per game and rusing the ball for 193.8 yards per game behind Zach Charbonnet who has quickly become one of the best running backs in college football after transferring from Michigan. He has seven touchdowns on 24 carries for 360 yards in just four games this season. The passing game has been horrendous for UCLA and the protection is a major reason for that On defense, UCLA has been missing quite a lot of tackles but have shown a solid rushing defense and pass rush. The coverage also hasn’t been bad either.

Prediction

Arizona State might be the one defense that can shut down the UCLA offense. They’ve dominated in coverage, can pass rush and have been solid stopping the run while also making a lot of tackles the first try. The offense for Arizona State isn’t the best but Daniels should get plenty of time in the pocket against UCLA and will make plenty of plays from there.
