Joe Gavazzi takes a look into the College Football Odds board and hand selected a game that he believes carries his 'crusher of the week', read on for his educated free pick.

Ball St. vs C. Michigan (-12) 3:30 ET

For those of you who heeded the advice of last week’s article entitled The CFB Double Rushers and the 200 Club, you profited handsomely with Saturday’s selections that went 6-2 ATS.  Selections on this site are now 29-17 ATS with more winners on tap for this weekend.

Under 1st year HC Mike Neu, the Cardinals soared out of the gate with a 3-1 SU, 4-0 ATS start. Last Saturday, they lined up as favorite against a team who has dominated them, N. Illinois, in recent seasons. The result was predictable, as the Huskies defeated the Cards 31-24. That game was only close because Ball had a (+2) net TO margin in their favor. The reality of the stat sheet showed that NIU outrushed Ball 355-151 and along with 298 passing yards, totaled a whopping 653 yards against the Ball St. defense. This was not unusual for a Cardinals’ defense that was 200 “clubbed” for the year in 2015, allowing 36 points and 518 yards. This week, Ball St. travels to C. Michigan, where they can expect a pass defense that has allowed 266 or more PYPG each of the last 4 weeks to get annihilated.

For, they are facing the Chips on the wrong week!  First of all, there will be no complacency by CMU, as they could defeat Ball just 23-21 last year, despite outgaining them 434-299.  This year, after a promising 3-0 SU ATS start and a 28-0 3rd quarter deficit at Virginia, the Chips have fallen on hard times for the last 1 ½ games.  After CMU tied the game at 28, Virginia stormed back to win that game 49-35.  Last week, against the best team in the MAC, Central lost 49-10 to the Broncos.  That drops their record to 13-3 ATS/loss and brings them with great hunger against the team, who is ripe to be blown out.  Under 2nd year HC Bonamego (an NFL special teams guru), the Chips will have their normal edge in that area against today’s foe.  They also have QB Rush, who was held to 178 PY last week, ready to explode!  QB Rush is averaging over 300 PYPG.

Against the porous Ball St. pass-defense, with C. Michigan playing off BBLs, and a previous home loss last week, look for a huge bounce back game by C. Michigan in a contest that could well see a 3 TD victory by the home team. I invite you to put the College Football ODDS in your favor and join me in my College Football PICK on C. Michigan this afternoon.
