Georgia benefited greatly by not playing the best teams in the SEC, which provides Louisville betting value in the 2014 Belk Bowl in Charlotte.

A Solid Season
Georgia outscored opponents by an average of 20.4 points in putting together a solid 9-3 season, which is important to consider when making your college football picks, but it also didn’t play the likes of Alabama, LSU, Mississippi State and Ole Miss in Southeastern Conference play.

The Bulldogs will certainly try to win this game on the ground due to averaging 255 rushing yards, with Nick Chubb leading the way in tallying seven straight 100-yard efforts.

Since the start of the 2012 campaign, the program is 4-4 SU and 3-5 ATS as favorites of 3.5 to 10 points, with the OVER going 5-3 in that situation.

Motivating Factor
Louisville is looking to secure its third consecutive 10-win season for the first time in school history, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college football odds, as head coach Bobby Petrino is focused on making it happen in his second go around on campus.

The Cardinals have been one of the best defenses in the country this season under first-year coordinator Todd Grantham—a key factor in handicapping this matchup due to him holding the same position with the Bulldogs from 2010-13.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the team is 3-3 SU and 4-2 ATS when getting points, with the OVER cashing in four of six opportunities.

Key Factor
The Bulldogs did a great job of taking care of the football during the regular season, as they finished with a plus-15 turnover margin—scoring 104 points off of their opponents’ miscues.

Georgia needs to win that particular category in hopes of improving upon its 27-19-3 all-time bowl record, especially against an aggressive defense on the other side.

Hitting Its Stride
The Cardinals showed great resolve in closing out the year with three victories after a disappointing 42-31 setback to the Florida State Seminoles as 3.5-point home underdogs on Oct. 30, as the offense took off under a new system.

During Petrino’s two stints on campus, Louisville is 50-9 SU when scoring 20 or more points, which bodes well for a unit that put up 30-plus on the scoreboard in its last five contests.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Cardinals as one of their top sports picks, as the Bulldogs are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games when playing on two or more weeks of rest.
