As a 31-point favorite on the college football odds, Memphis must run up the score as this isn't a matter of will they win against a vulnerable Tulane squad, but a matter of by how much?

Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, October 31st at Liberty Bowl Memorial in Memphis, Tennessee. According to 5Dimes, the Tigers are a 31 point betting favorite on the college football odds and the total for the game is listed at 66 points.

A Halloween Massacre?
It's expected and as I stated, Memphis has a bunch of teams to pass in order to get into an BCS playoff talks, therefore, you know that they'll look to lay the heavy hammer on the vulnerable Tulane Green Wave, who are going nowhere.

Points will be scored as Memphis is 3rd in the nation, averaging a hefty 48 points per game and also average 358 yards through the air.

Near Perfect
Memphis is quarterbacked by 6 foot 7, 245 pound junior, Paxton Lynch. Although it's true that Lynch has a ton of weapons on the offensive end, giving him a decisive edge, he's done his job well in the efficiency department.

For the season, Lynch has thrown for 2366 yards on over 70% completion rating with 17 TD and just 1 INT. That's as perfect as it gets and only being sacked 9 times this season. The Memphis offensive line also deserves some props. Lynch is coming off of a season high 447 yards and 4 TD in a 66-42 victory at Tulsa. While the Tigers did allow 42 points, they allow under 30 points per game for the season and with an offense like this, that's good enough to beat most teams in the country and especially Tulane.

Well Balanced Attack
Another attribute that makes the Memphis offense so great is that they distribute the ball fairly evenly. Lynch has 5 targets of 250 yards receiving or more, led by wide receiver, Anthony Miller (542 yards, 3 TD) and he also has 4 running backs with 220 yards or more.Doroland Dorceus and Jarvis Cooper are the main ground gainers. This amount of depth is simply unstoppable and makes the 31 point betting spread appear low,

All that you have to do is take a look at opponents who are similar to that of Tulane and see that they were crushed by each and every one of them. The Green Wave lost to Georgia Tech, 65-10, lost to Temple 49-10, land lost to Houston 42-7. Memphis is certianly as good as any of these teams. Why wouldn't they cover the 31 points?

Receivers Devon Breaux (383 yards, 3 TD) and Teddy Veal (378 yards, 3 TD) will need to have the games of their careers to beat Memphis. The Tigers passing attack is so powerful that just running the ball with a slightly below Green Wave rushing attack is useless. Look for our college football pick,Memphis to dominate the Green Wave by 35 points or more.
