Saturday will be fine football weather for most of the country but there are a few exceptions which could affect your college football picks. Let’s take a look at those contests that could be impacted by wet weather.

3:30 PM ET Penn State vs. Maryland

Apparently, those including the Nittany Lions in their college football picks are also gambling that the 30 percent chance of showers in College Park, Maryland will either not come to pass or that Penn State will roll despite the wet track. I say that because the college football odds makers opened the visiting Lions up as 18-point road chalk but that number has already spiked to 22 in most of the major online sportsbooks. Interestingly enough, the total has remained rock solid at 58, so if you want to bet on the rain then bet on the under in this contest.

4:00 PM ET Michigan State vs. Rutgers

A 40 percent chance of rain and a west wind blowing up to 12 miles per hour is the forecast for this Big Ten clash in Piscataway, New Jersey. Looks like there is absolutely no fear on the part of those going over in this one as the total has inched from 39½ to 41 in most shops. As far as the side is concerned, the Spartans opened as 13½ road favorites and that number has hardly moved in either direction.

7:00 PM ET Oregon State vs. Oregon

A south wind blowing up to 17 miles per hour may cause the pigskin to float erratically in this 121st edition of the Civil War between Oregon State and their intra-state rival Oregon. But more importantly, it appears as though this will be a splish-splash affair with an 80 percent chance of rain showers drenching the players and the patrons. The hometown Ducks have ballooned to 25-point favorites after opening at 21 ½ in the early offerings. Despite the anticipated showers, the total has barely moved from its opener of 62 ½ to 63 at only a few shops. The under may be the play here as the rain, if it comes, could make this a sloppy affair.

8:00 PM ET Washington State vs. Washington

Washington has claimed victories in seven of the last eight Apple Cups over their PAC 12 rivals Washington State and is 6-2 ATS in those contests for those who have backed the Huskies in their college football picks. Once again Washington is the favorite to stake their claim to Apple Cup dominance as they are installed as 10 to 10½ point favorites depending on where you shop. However, a 70 percent chance of rain and wind gusts of up to 17 miles per hour has caused the total to fall from a high of 51 to where it now sits at 48.

Although betting that the rain comes and the pace slows will cause you to take a less than optimal number, perhaps a case could be made that if the tempo does lag, it could make the Cougars live dogs getting all those points. Keep your eyes turned on the weather forecast as well as SBR odds for all the latest changes.
