Our college football handicapper serves up 4 totals plays for this weekend. Read on as familiar, and not so familiar, conference foes meet to decide their postseason fate.

2015-16 NCAAB Record: 34-31-2, -0.20 Units

Alabama Crimson Tide vs Florida Gators

Alabama averages 41.6 points per game on the road this year. This total is set at 40.5. Need I say more? Ok, I’ll say a little more, but not much. Take a look at the Florida injury report on defense and you’ll find they’ve lost 10 players on that side of the ball since mid-November. This doesn’t sound like a squad that will be able to slow down Alabama at all, and the Crimson Tide isn’t going to take any chances with being another one-loss team in the mix for the College Football Playoffs.

Florida might score 10 points in this game, but I don’t even think they will need to for this game to go over the total of 40.5. Take the Over here at BookMaker.

Clemson Tigers vs Virginia Tech Hokies

These two ACC foes haven’t met since October 20th, 2012, in a game that Clemson won 38-17 as a 7.5-point favorite. Although it doesn’t matter much here, that game also went under the listed total of 63.5 by 8.5 points. And that is also exactly my reasoning behind this pick. There is only so much that tape can show you about an opponent, and I expect both teams to open with just conservative enough game plans to keep this game Under the 1st half total listed at 30. The fact that Virginia Tech and Clemson holds opponents to 10.9 and 6.7 points in the first half, respectively, also helps the cause.

San Diego State Aztecs vs Wyoming Cowboys

These teams met just two weeks ago in this stadium, yet here we are with a O/U total posted 9 points higher than that prior game. The weather will be windy, just like last time, but also the temperature will be 20 degrees less – before the wind chill.

On Nov. 19th the Cowboys won 34-33 as an 8.5-point home underdog, and the game wasn’t as close as the final score indicated. San Diego State picked up 14 points on two kickoff returns for touchdowns in that game, an event unlikely to be repeated here. With both teams’ passing attacks to be hampered by the weather, look for them to lean on the strength of their running games. That should keep the clock running, and keep this game under the listed total of 62.5 at BookMaker.

Oklahoma State Cowboys vs Oklahoma Sooners

To the moon, Alice! That’s what I think about this game’s totals betting line, currently sitting at 78 over at BookMaker. The last two meetings between these teams went over the listed total of course, with bars set at 57.5 and 62.5, respectively. These teams slow down a bit in December, with Oklahoma State going Under at a 4-1-1 clip in their last six games in that situation and the Sooners going Under at a strong 13-3-1 in their last 17. This game just stays under the number at a score near 40-31, Sooners.
