Last weekend feature a few titanic tilts. This weekend, we're looking at a number of more under-the-radar type of games. With that in mind, here are our three favorite college football picks.

Memphis Tigers vs. Houston Cougars
This is a game in which the Memphis Tigers will go back to the drawing board and realize all the ways in which they were outplayed and outworked by the Navy Midshipmen last week. That was a very surprising game, not necessarily because Memphis lost, but because it lost by 25 at home. The Tigers know they didn’t play the way they could have or should have. They also know that Navy’s style of offense is not typical and not representative of what they will see from Houston. The Cougars do a lot of the same stuff Memphis does. This will be a familiar opponent for Memphis, and the urge to right the wrongs of last week against Navy should enable the Tigers to play a lot better. TMaybe Houston will win, but Memphis will keep this game very close and cover the number. Keep in mind that this is also what many consider to be the best opponent Houston has played this season whereas Memphis has already been battle tested for this type of a showdown.

Temple Owls vs. South Florida Bulls
The key point to make here is that Temple had to play last week against SMU on short rest, with only five full days off after a very physical game against Notre Dame. Temple played that SMU game on a Friday after playing Notre Dame the previous Saturday. The Owls were tired, and it showed in the fact that they gave up 40 points. That might be the reason the spread is so small. South Florida has not done much to warrant such respect. Temple should be able to re-establish its defense and shut down whatever South Florida is trying to do. As long as the Owls don’t make big mistakes on offense or special teams, they should be able to grind out a win with a score in the neighborhood of 20-13 or 23-14. Take the Owls with your college football picks.

Washington State Cougars vs. UCLA Bruins
It’s true that UCLA has home field here and some very talented offensive players, beginning with quarterback Josh Rosen, but Washington State is just a much better team than it was at the beginning of the season. The Cougars gave Stanford a very tough battle before losing on a last-second field goal miss. They beat Arizona State and are continuing to show that they belong in the upper half of the Pac-12. UCLA might win, but it won’t be a cakewalk. Everything points to Washington State staying in this game to the bitter end and covering the college football odds.
