The American Athletic Conference has a tie-in through the 2021 season, and this year, the Mid-American Conference owned an automatic invite. All AAC eligible teams skipped with Central Florida playing LSU on New Year’s Day. Solich lost 21-17 to Marshall as 3-point chalk in the 2009 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl, yet took care of business 41-6 laying 7.5 points to UAB in last year’s Bahamas Bowl.
