In honor of Opening Night of the college football season we've chosen three games from which to offer up free college football picks. Here's what we came up with.

Ole Miss -10 vs. Boise State (at Atlanta)
The Broncos continue their tradition of opening their seasons with tough games when they travel to Atlanta to take on the Rebels.

Boise State returns 15 starters for new head coach Bryan Harsin, but while most of the skills positions are filled, the Broncos have three holes to fill on both the offensive and defensive lines. We also wonder if the bloom might finally be fading from this Boise State program, which lost five games last year, including a 38-6 decision to Washington in the season opener.

Ole Miss also returns 15 starters for its third season under head coach Hugh Freeze. The Rebs also have most of their skills people back, led by QB Bo Wallace, but they also have three holes to fill along the offensive line. But they get back nine starters on defense, including three up front and the entire secondary.

College football teams often make big strides in their third seasons under new coaching regimes, and the Rebs are planning on doing just that, perhaps contending in the SEC West. Taking care of business vs. Boise State would be a good start. So we'll give the points a go with Ole Miss.

Tulsa -6.5 vs. Tulane
The Hurricane and the Green Wave meet in the AAC opener for both teams at Chapman Stadium in Tulsa.

The Hurricane, with just nine starters back last year, slumped to 3-9, as their offense struggled through its least productive season in many years. This year Tulsa gets back 15 starters, five on offense, including three along the line, and 10 on defense.

Tulane is coming off its best season in over a decade, after going 7-6 last year with a bowl appearance. This year the Wave return 13 starters, seven on offense and six on defense. But after making a jump last year we wonder if Tulane might be a candidate to regress this season.

Tulsa had beaten Tulane eight times in a row, by an average of 30 points per game. But last year the Wave defeated the Hurricane 14-7. We expect this series to revert back to normalcy, so we'll go with the home team Thursday night.

Louisiana-Monroe -2 vs. Wake Forest
The Warhawks host the Demon Deacons at Malone Stadium in Monroe.

UL-M returns 15 starters from a team that went 6-6 last year. Six starters are back on offense, including three along the offensive line, and nine starters are back on defense, consisting of all three up front, three linebackers and three in the secondary.

Wake, meanwhile, only returns 10 starters for its first season under new head coach Dave Clawson. The Deacons have to replace their starting quarterback, leading rusher, leading receiver and their entire defensive front four.

These two teams met in Winston-Salem last year, with the Warhawks pulling off a 21-19 upset. This time around UL-M is the more experienced outfit, and playing at home. So we'll go with the Warhawks.
