There is a new UFC light-heavyweight champion. It took a bit of serendipity and Jon Jones' implosion but Daniel "DC" Cormier is once again the new kingpin in the light-heavyweight division after submitting Anthony Johnson in two rounds last night.
Cormier was a +125 underdog at most online sportsbooks in the UFC 210 main event, but he was a popular dog as 53% of online sports bettors believed he would prevail against the younger and taller foe in Anthony Johnson.
Cormier's fight-ending chokehold means that bettors who wagered on Cormier winning by submission won as much as 2.65 times their bet, so a $1,000 wager would have returned $2,650.
Gamblers who wagered on the fight going under the scheduled five-round distance had to lay up to -600 but won this wager easily.
