Online Gambling Company Stake Gains Naming Rights for F1 Team
Global betting, entertainment, and lifestyle brand Stake is stepping in to fill a Title Partnership role with Sauber Motorsport AG after the company ended its relationship with Alfa Romeo at the end of the 2023 season. Many motorsports betting opportunities are available at our best sports betting apps.
Sauber had been seeking a new interim Title Partnership deal to bridge a two-year gap until Audi takes on the role in 2026.
The partnership deal was “crafted with the aim of keeping the fans front and center – by bringing a fresh perspective on the intersection of sports and entertainment,” said Stake co-founder Edward Craven.
According to Craven: “We are thrilled with the opportunity to bring an electrifying and brand-new identity into our Formula One team, kickstarting the F1 season with a bold team name, Stake F1 Team. Fuelled by deep passion for speed, innovation, and pushing boundaries, we are now ideally positioned to take the team to unprecedented heights from 2024 and beyond. The upcoming years will be a thrilling ride with some mind-blowing activations planned that will redefine excitement on and off the track. So, brace yourselves and stay tuned, as Stake F1 Team accelerates towards an exciting future!”
The "Stake F1 Team"
Stake - through Stake.us and Stake.com - is an online sweepstakes casino, sports betting site and lifestyle brand with celebrity backing from Canadian rapper Drake, the UFC, English Premier League football club Everton, former global football standout Sergio Aguero, and Indian Canadian rapper Karan Aujla. Stake will expand their relationship with Sauber and will become Title Partner of the Formula 1 racing team for the next two years under the agreement.
Stake had an existing affiliation with Sauber, which included the naming rights for the team and the cars' chassis. The expanded relationship is seen as a new chapter for Stake as it attempts to increase exposure and its status as a leading global online sports wagering brand. “Last season represented the start of Stake’s journey in Formula 1, and the brand’s new role headlining Stake F1 Team represents the natural and exciting next step on this path,” team representative Alessandro Alunni Bravi said. “Stake not only successfully tapped into Formula 1’s growing fan base to enhance its own community; but also introduced a completely new audience to the sport, something that benefitted not only our team but also everyone else in F1.
“We had the opportunity to participate in some incredible activations with some of Stake’s ambassadors, including Argentine football legend, Sergio Aguero and Indian Canadian rapper Karan Aujla. 2024 will be a new page and the chance to do more, better, and reach even farther: we are looking forward to an even more exciting calendar of events in this new season.”
Kick.com angle
Tethered to the Stake Title Partnership with Swiss-based Sauber will be Kick.com, a new streaming platform that also has ties to Stake co-founder Edward Craven. The streaming platform will also benefit from increased exposure among sports and sports betting fans.
The official "Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber" title has been recognized by the FIA, but it is expected, short of a few events on the F1 calendar, that the team will go with "Stake F1 Team" as their official name.
Alessandro Alumni Bravi, Sauber managing director, said of the Kick.com angle: “Sauber has always been about innovation, breaking the mold and defying convention. The partnership with Kick.com is the latest and boldest display of the philosophy that drives us. Kick.com is redefining the way live streaming is done and they will adopt the same disruptive approach in the world of Formula One.”
What's next?
The 2024 launch for the Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber is scheduled for February 5 in London, England, in what promises to be a typically glitzy F1 event. At that time, the team’s C44 car will be unveiled with a new logo, complete with a black and white color scheme.
The 2024 F1 season will soon follow with the Bahrain Grand Prix on Feb. 29, a season in which the team will be looking to build upon a ninth-place finish in the constructors' championship. It has already been announced that Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu will continue as drivers of the team cars.
