Report: Bills sign Stefon Diggs to a 4-year, $104M Contract Extension

The Buffalo Bills and wide receiver Stefon Diggs reportedly agreed to a $104 million, four-year contract extension with $70 million guaranteed, ESPN Senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported Wednesday.

Diggs will now be with the Bills for another six seasons.

The 28-year-old receiver has four consecutive seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards, and he’s been even better through two seasons with the Bills, totaling 230 receptions for 2,760 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Additionally, it can’t be ignored how important Diggs has been for the growth and development of franchise quarterback Josh Allen. Allen is currently the favorite to win the 2022 MVP Award at most sportsbooks.

With the Bills already the betting favorite to win Super Bowl LVII, Diggs contract extension isn’t a needle mover for Buffalo’s odds at sportsbooks. After all, he was already under contract for the 2022 season.

However, there’s now additional security for both Diggs and Buffalo. While hard to quantify how looming contract negotiations can impact on-field play and team chemistry, the Bills and their star receiver ensured there won’t be any off-field drama between them for the foreseeable future.
