Justin Thomas, Jon Rahm, and Scottie Scheffler are the betting favorites to win the 2022 U.S. Open at The Country Club in Brookline, MA.

Caesars and DraftKings Sportsbooks have Scheffler (+1100) and Rahm (+900) as their respective favorite to win the event, whereas FanDuel Sportsbook has both Thomas (+1400) and Rahm (+1400) with the shortest odds.

The trio fit the mold, as Thomas is fresh off his second major championship victory in the PGA Championship, whereas Rahm is the defending U.S. Open champion.

Similarly, Scheffler is the current World No. 1 and won his first major in April at The Masters.

Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy is also rightfully placed near the top of the odds lists, and he’s also been near the top of the leaderboard in each of the first two major championships this season, finishing second at The Masters and eighth at the PGA Championship.

Still, his last major was at the 2014 Open Championship, so skepticism is probably warranted.

Jordan Spieth is an interesting inclusion near the top of the odds list, as the oft fan favorite hasn’t impressed in either of the first two majors of this season, including missing the cut at The Masters.

Because of his popularity, bookmakers don’t need to hang market value to take action on Speith, as he’s consistently among the leaders in ticket and handle percentage whenever he’s in the field.

Being among the leaders at majors on Sundays hasn’t been as common over the past number of seasons, though.

He has just four top-10 showings through 16 majors since winning the Open Championship in 2017.

A peek at the listed numbers for Bryson DeChambeau unveils the most interesting disparity in odds.

DraftKings has posted the 2020 U.S. Open winner with the second-lowest odds, whereas he doesn’t crack the top-10 at the other two noted books.

Of course, DeChambeau hasn’t teed it up since missing the cut at The Masters, and he’s also recovering from an April wrist surgery.

He’s listed in the field for the Charles Schwab Challenge this week, and the ever-conservative DraftKings bookmakers might just make him the betting favorite if he can make the cut and play the weekend.
