Friday is going to be a big night for our best sports betting sites.

The anticipation for the upcoming boxing match between former world heavyweight champion "Iron" Mike Tyson and social media influencer Jake Paul increased following a news conference at the Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas, where Paul agreed to a $40 million bet with light-welterweight champion Katie Taylor.

During the promotional event, all the fighters on the undercard to the Tyson-Paul fight were asked to predict the final outcome of the fight. The former YouTuber approached any fighters who predicted against Paul and asked how much they wanted to bet against him. Taylor joked that he should bet the value of the fight purse, which is expected to be around $40 million. Paul responded, “Yeah, let's bet the purse. Deal.” Other bets between Paul and the undercard fighters range from homes valued at $1 million to as low as $20.

Tyson was asked whether Paul would defeat him, to which Iron Mike responded, “I am not going to lose. Did you hear what I said?"

We've kept you up to date on the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul odds ahead of Friday's bout at the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys AT&T Stadium, which will have 80,000 fans in attendance. The fight will be available exclusively on Netflix for those who want to watch it at home.

Paul Steals the Show at Promotional Event

Tyson has stolen headlines for plenty during his storied career, whether it be for foul-mouthed interviews like with Russ Salzburg in 1999, winning accolades in boxing, spending time in prison, appearing in movies like The Hangover, or even biting a portion of an opponent’s ear off. However, Paul provided most of the noteworthy antics ahead of their fight.

Paul referenced one of Tyson’s most infamous moments during the news conference, wearing a diamond-plated ear cover to protect himself from any biting. He also countered arguments he agreed to fight Tyson to add validity to his boxing career, saying, “I didn't bring him to do s***; I'm here to make $40million and knock out a legend, I don't give a f*** about anything else, he's the one who wanted it to be a pro fight and he's going to get his ass knocked out for real.”

Tyson didn’t contribute much to the conference, answering reporters trying to get him to speak more with “I've said everything I had to say. I'm just looking forward to fighting."

Betting Records Expected to Fall with Tyson vs. Paul

Many industry experts anticipate the boxing match between Tyson, 58, and Paul, 27, will draw a record betting handle for a boxing event, especially in the US. PR Manager at BetMGM, John Ewing, recently passed on insight from a senior trader who predicted it would be “the most bet on boxing match in BetMGM history.”

Professional boxing has not had many US-based stars since Deontay Wilder fell from popularity, so the all-American matchup between one of the best to ever put on boxing gloves and a social media star is expected to draw the most attention of any boxing match since the US Supreme Court overturned the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992 (PASPA).
