Mayfield should prove to be an upgrade over every quarterback Moore has played with through his first four seasons in the league, and Moore has averaged 1,175 receiving yards per year the past three.

Additionally, Moore has played at least 15 games all four years in the NFL.

Proven production and durability are sound starting points for prospective over bettors.

Mayfield is coming off a disappointing season with the Browns, but he also wasn’t fully healthy. The 27-year-old quarterback underwent surgery in January to repair a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder.

Furthermore, a lot of the criticism Mayfield has received centers on his poor decisions and inconsistency.

Those shortcomings shouldn’t be a concern for Moore’s statistical outlook, and the fifth-year receiver should remain the go-to target in the Carolina offense.

It’s also worth highlighting whether the potential incumbent No. 1 quarterback Sam Darnold holds onto the job or is called upon during the season. Darnold wouldn’t be a crippling dropoff from Mayfield and jeopardize Moore’s potential to flirt with his current receiving yards total.

Darnold started 11 games for the Panthers in 2021, and Moore finished with 1,157 receiving yards.
