Fan Engagement Front And Center With MLS/MGM’s Predict 6

The evolution of the US sports betting industry continues and the MLS is on the board with a new game "MLS Predict 6 presented by BetMGM". It is a free-to-play weekly prediction game launched in conjunction with MGM Resorts International and will give fans a chance to win up to $50,000 each week of the MLS season.

The new game is fan-engagement focused and hopes to not only bring more excitement to the MLS season but also some more options for bettors and fans of the league. It is the first weekly free-to-play betting option for the league and gives fans a chance to strut their knowledge of the league and even pit that knowledge against others if they so choose.

Major League Soccer is excited to elevate the digital fan experience with the new free-to-play ‘Predict 6’ game presented by BetMGM,” said Chris Schlosser, MLS SVP of Media. “We are always looking for new experiences for our fans that bring them closer to the game. ‘Predict 6’ builds upon our existing fantasy offerings to give fans a free, quick and easy way to both compete and showcase their knowledge of the League and our clubs with friends.”

The details

Those wanting to take part in free Predict 6 can find the game on both the MLS official website and its mobile app. The game is available to all legal bettors and can be found at Once signed in, bettors will be asked a series of questions pertaining to the league action for that week. The games start every Thursday at noon ET, just ahead of the commencement of the league schedule for each week.

Scott Butera, President of Interactive Gaming at MGM, added: “Predict 6 is a concept that will allow fans to engage with their favorite MLS teams in a way that they’ve never experienced before."

The game

Firstly, participants will be asked to predict the outcome of games. After that, a set of prop-style questions will have to be answered correctly in order to cash in. There is a total of 12 predictions in all that players will have to get right in order to claim the big prize. Examples of the props are "Which team will score first?" and "What will be the final score?" It’s essentially six game outcome predictions and six secondary questions related to each match.

Points will be awarded for each correct prediction and those scores will vary. Some correct guesses are worth more than others such as bets on underdogs. If there is no player with a perfect prediction scorecard at the end of the week there will be no $50,000 winner but the participant with the highest score will be awarded $500. Last week, nobody got 12 predictions correct – the bettor with nine correct collected the $500.

Leagues have already been created for those who want a little more interactive Predict 6 experience. Just like a Fantasy league, players can join up with friends, family and/or other MLS fans to play along.

Betting operators and sports leagues are finding new ways to better engage their fans and the betting public. Innovation is what is going to keep the industry fresh, meaning that more such interactive betting options will be coming online sooner rather than later. Predict 6 represents the first of many new and exciting betting games US gamblers will see come online thanks to the intense battle being waged right now for your wagering dollars.
