Online sportsbook EFBet (SBR rating D+) has announced that they are closing as of June 5, 2019.
Players should request payment immediately ahead of this date. EFBet will return funds to player accounts via the method originally used to deposit.
According to their statement to players, all account data will be erased of June 5. It is unclear exactly what is happening with pending futures wagers which would have been settled after June 5, such as the winner of the next Super Bowl or World Cup.
The industry standard for reputable companies which close is to honor all pending futures wagers at their settlement date, as was the case when betting site The Greek closed its doors on May 1.
EFBet was licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority. SBR has requested that the MGA review EFBet's handling of the situation to ensure that all players are paid, even the players who do not read the notice of the closure and request payment prior to June 5.
