An Indiana bettor has wagered $250 on the Detroit Pistons to win the 2022-23 NBA Championship at +75000 at Caesars Sportsbook.

The payout would be a smooth $187,500.

After the Pistons thudded their way to a 23-59 record and finished with the second fewest wins in the NBA last season, it’s definitely a flier for the Hoosiers bettor.

There’s definitely some long-term promise in Motor City, though.

Rookie point guard Cade Cunningham resembled the talent he was billed as when selected first overall in the 2021 NBA Draft more and more as last season played out.

Detroit wisely added a backcourt running mate for Cunningham in this year’s draft by selecting Jaden Ivey fifth overall.

Then the Pistons made another draft-night splash by acquiring center Jalen Duren, who was selected with the 13th overall selection in Thursday’s draft by the Charlotte Hornets.

So, while the youth movement is in full swing in Detroit, they were listed at +75000 for a reason.

And, if we’re being honest with ourselves, those odds are probably still short.
