Bettor Puts $100K on Celtics To Win NBA Title

After the Boston Celtics took a 3-2 series lead over the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Final with a 93-80 victory at Miami in Game 5, there was a $100,000 wager placed on the Celtics at Caesars to win the NBA title.

The Celtics were priced at +150 to win the championship, the second shortest odds on the board, behind the Golden State Warriors, so if Boston does win the NBA title, the payout would be $150,000.

The odds have shifted at little at Caesars since this wager, with Boston now priced at +140, but the Celtics are in a good position to come out of the Eastern Conference with a 3-2 series lead and heading home for Game 6.

In the Western Conference, the Golden State Warriors are leading three games to one against the Dallas Mavericks, heading home for Game 5. The Warriors are the favorites to win the championship but getting in on the Celtics before the Finals matchup has been set does offer slightly better odds on the Celtics than waiting for it to be confirmed that Boston and Golden State will play for the title.

Boston has been led against Miami by Jaylen Brown, who is averaging 25.0 points per game, and Jayson Tatum, who has added 23.8 points per game against the Heat.
