BetSafe player advised to contact MGA with bonus complaint

A BetSafe Sportsbook (SBR rating C-) player has been advised to contact the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA).

The player reported that he is a resident of Albania but travels to and from Sweden every three months on a tourist visa, and claimed that he made BetSafe aware of this situation when inquiring on if he was eligible to redeem a bonus geared toward Swedish players.

BetSafe reportedly told him that he would be able to use the bonus provided that he was in Sweden at the time.

The player then deposited and began wagering, eventually finishing the play-through requirement for the bonus and asked for a payout. At this point, BetSafe allegedly told the player that because he does not hold a resident permit from Sweden, he did not qualify for the bonus after all and would lose his bonus winnings as a result.

The player has argued that he fully made BetSafe aware of his travel arrangements to and from Sweden and was told he would have no issues.

BetSafe will not provide comment on this or any complaint to SBR because of their third-party privacy policy. As a result, SBR has advised the player to file a complaint with the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA). If the MGA rules against BetSafe, the online sportsbook will be bound to follow their ruling.
