Alliance Sportsbook player being slow-paid


SBR first reported that the Alliance Sportsbook player recorded a complaint through the sportsbook dispute form in February 2013 (read archive of Alliance Sportsbook payout complaint). At the time, the player grew skeptical that he would be promptly paid his then more than $15,000 balance as he had already been stalled by Alliance for going on three weeks.

Over the course of the next three months and after constantly prodding Alliance Sportsbook via email over the status of his sportsbook payouts, the player received partial payouts through an undisclosed payout method amounting to just over half of the total balance owed to him. SBR reported this update in May and noted that the player was still owed a sizable sum from Alliance Sportsbook.

Later in the year on November 11, a manager at Alliance Sportsbook informed the player that according to the accounting department he was sent three payouts in the last few months and that copies of the payouts sent would be produced to the player. The player quickly followed up with this noting that there were certain tracking references to previous withdrawals and expressed concern over the limited amount of information provided. He continued to follow up pressing Alliance Sportsbook for more information on the allegedly sent payouts, but received no new information from the manager. The player reached out to Sportsbook again at this point to notify the SBR staff that Alliance has balked at sending the remainder of the funds owed.

At this point, SBR followed up with the Alliance Sportsbook manager the player had been communicating with and asked for an update on why he has not yet been paid in full. In a manner consistent with the previous correspondence had with the player, SBR was told the following in a terse email sparing much of the detail that could help ease the player’s mind and paint a clearer picture on when he might expect to receive his online sportsbook payout in full:

Statement from Alliance Sportsbook manager regarding the player payout dispute:

“We have an issue with him but this week… (the payout)”.

SBR has communicated this update to the player. The player has vowed to continue to share his feedback on what has been a hellish experience attempting to receive his full balance from Alliance Sportsbook.

In light of the continued slow-pay of this Alliance Sportsbook player combined with the relatively few verifiable reports of player feedback or payment, as well as the lack of reputable licensing factoring in the location of the sportsbook, SBR lowered Alliance Sportsbook’s rating to D+.

SBR opened a topic to log this Alliance Sportsbook payout issue in the SBR Sportsbook & Industry forum and has already received decided user feedback from players with and without accounts at Alliance Sportsbook. One recognized forum poster indicated he has received payment in the past from the brand, while another was highly concerned that he might have taken Alliance up on one of their marketing offers sent via email and was glad to have read the report of the player’s payout trouble.
