While the Buffalo Bills are a sizable favorite to win the AFC East Division for a third consecutive season, the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets bolstered their respective rosters during the offseason, and the New England Patriots finished just a game behind Buffalo last year.

Here are the division odds at CaesarsDraftKings, and FanDuel Sportsbooks, followed by a burning question for each team in the AFC East.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills are currently the betting favorite to win Super Bowl LVII, and the first step in that journey is taking care of their own division.

Stepping back and evaluating Buffalo from afar with their championship aspirations in mind, the biggest question is whether the Bills can finish atop the AFC in the regular season and secure the precious bye to avoid playing in the Super Wild Card Weekend?

Miami Dolphins

Bringing in head coach Mike McDaniel, wide receiver Tyreek Hill, and shoring up the offensive line headline the offseason moves in Miami. Add quarterback Tua Tagovailoa entering his third season, and the Dolphins project to be a more formidable opponent this season.

The question remains: Are the Fins a legitimate threat to win a postseason game or a team already looking ahead to 2023 by midseason?

New England Patriots

Even if head coach Bill Belichick has earned the benefit of the doubt, and New England has been better than the sum of its parts the past two years without quarterback Tom Brady, the Patriots roster doesn’t jump off the page.

New England missing the playoffs for the second time in three years isn’t out of the question, so who are the stars leading the Patriots to victories this season?

New York Jets

Pundits love the offseason additions through the 2022 NFL Draft and free agency for the Jets, and there’s some promise on offense, especially if Zach Wilson shows improvement in Year 2. Still, New York hasn’t had a winning season since 2015.

The expectation is that Gang Green will be more competitive this season, but is it going to include more ticks in the wins column?
