24/10 05:00 AM (set kill 24/10 09:00 PM) – WTA Finals Singapore – Best Plays For Day 2

Agnieszka Radwanska (2) vs. Svetlana Kuznetsova (8)

After a six-year absence, Svetlana Kuznetsova returns to the WTA Finals. Kuznetsova was the last player to secure a place in Singapore after winning the WTA Moscow title last week. Known as one of the most complete players on the tour, Svetlana possesses one of the best forehands in the game. Even though Kuznetsova is also famous for her inconsistency, the Russian reaches this event after a superb campaign in Moscow, dismissing Daria Gavrilova in the final in two easy sets.

Agnieszka Radwanska returns to Singapore after winning the biggest title of her career 12 months ago. After claiming her 20th career title in Beijing, Radwanska decided to withdraw from the WTA Tianjin’s quarterfinals due to a right thigh injury. Despite that, Agnieszka should present herself at a good level in Singapore. This is already Radwanska’s 8th career appearance in the WTA Finals, her 6th consecutive.

These two players know each other well with Kuznetsova holding a massive 12 – 4 lead on the h2h. Looking now to their previous encounters, the last one took place a few weeks ago in Wuhan with Svetlana emerging victorious by 1 – 6 7 – 6 6 – 4.

Both players present a terrific baseline game and we can only expect another epic battle between them. As the h2h suggests, Kuznetsova seems to have the antidote to Radwanska’s tricky game style. With the Russian playing at such a good level in Moscow and due to her edge over Radwanska, the value is clearly on the Russian’s betting odds. Therefore, our suggestion is for you to place a bet on Kuznetsova’s set handicap as the best play for this match.

Karolina Pliskova (4) vs. Garbine Muguruza (5)

The 2016 US Open runner-up – Karolina Pliskova – makes her first apperance on the WTA Finals after a superb year. Known as one of the best servers in the history of the game, Pliskova holds some outstanding stats on serve throughout 2016 – 77.40% service hold and 62.40% break points saved while the WTA average is 63.4% and 53.30%, respectively. Karolina’s ability to play well under pressure is clearly one of the main reasons for her success this year.

Tennis is without any doubts one of the most mental sports where confidence plays a huge role on the players’ results. Garbine Muguruza’s season is a great example of that. After winning the biggest title of her career at the French Open, the Spaniard only won 57.14% of her following matches. Adding to this, Garbine reaches this event after suffering an ugly ankle injury in Linz. Muguruza’s ankle problems are well known and it won’t be easy for the Spaniard to present herself at 100% on this event.

This will be the 5th career meeting between these two players with Pliskova leading by 3 – 1 on the h2h.

Both players are famous for their firepower, which makes this a very interesting match-up. However, Karolina clearly holds the edge over this opponent with an overwhelming triumph a few weeks ago in Cincinnati by 6 – 1 6 – 3. Besides this and as we already mentioned, Muguruza might not be at her best due to her ankle problem. With this in mind, our recommendation is for you to add Pliskova to your betting picks to win this contest.
