Stryyke Sportsbook: Scam Alert, downgraded to F


Stryyke (SBR rating F) sportsbook continues to have new complaints filed from players that have had winnings deleted or not been paid their funds. Stryyke now has outstanding complaints against them exceeding €32,000, and recently had their gambling license revoked in Malta.

BetUS freeplay complaint update


On August 24th, SBR reported that BetUS reinstated a player's freeplay winnings who had his account closed for non-recreational play. BetUS returned $1,350 to the player's account but no longer wished to accept his business. SBR facilitated discussion between both sides where an agreement was ultimately reached to pay the player $1,000 and close his account. The player was not under durress when making the agreement and considered the deal to be fair as he would not be required to rollover his bonus with paltry limits.

Globet player reports payment


Globet (SBR rating D+) player reports payment. On July 29th, SBR reported that a Globet player had yet to receive payment from a May 28th withdrawal request. The player asked to receive £1,190 to his Moneybookers account. After providing Globet with proof of ID, he was given no update on his payment inquiries.

FREE NFL Football Contest: Beat The Prick is Open!


Day 1 of SBRforum's Beat The Prick football contest has arrived. Tonight's NFL game featuring the Minnesota Vikings versus New Orleans Saints is the first official game of the $160,000 Free Football Contest. SBRforum posters are also able to bet on themselves winning the free contest.

LGA of Malta suspends Stryykes gaming license


The Lotteries and Gaming Authority of Malta (LGA) suspended Stryyke's (SBR rating D-) gaming license on September 3rd. Stryyke currently owes numerous players over €30,000 and has stopped communicating with both players and SBR.

BetWay confiscates €503 from player


On July 28th, a BetWay (SBR rating D-) player created an account at BetWay through a friend's referral program. The friends website had the same IP address as the player. BetWay accused the player of owning the website, and creating an account through his own referral program (which violates BetWay's rules). SBR is discussing this dispute with BetWay.

Beat The Prick Futures odds


The SBRforum Points Sportsbook has released Beat The Prick 2010 futures odds. The play-for-points site gives forum members a chance to bet on their own placement in the NFL Handicapping contest.

CreditWagering slow-pay complaint


A CreditWagering (SBR rating D-) slow-pay complaint has been reported. On July 24th a player asked for a $2,000 withdrawal and was sent a debit card through the mail. His card has not since been loaded. The player states that CreditWagering informed him of processor troubles and failed to pay him in the next week as promised. Players in need of assistance with CreditWagering are urged to write to SBR.

QuickSilverSports complaint update


On September 6, 2010, SBR reported that BetQuickSilver (SBR rating C) was slow-paying a player $3174. After SBR contacted BetQS, the sportsbook told the player that his withdrawal will be completed in the next 7-10 days.

SBR Points Sportsbook upgrade


SBRforum's point sportsbook is having an upgrade performed. The sportsbook is expected to be down for approximately 45 minutes. SBRforum members use their loyalty points to bet at the sportsbook, participate in contests, and to redeem clothing, electronics, and other merchandise at the SBR Points Store.

QuickSilverSports payment complaint #2


A second QuickSilverSports (SBR rating C) payment complaint has been reported. On August 1st a player asked for a withdrawal of $3,174 through Moneybookers and has yet to receive his funds. The player states that QuickSilver has not provided an update on his payout status. This is the second outstanding QuickSilver payment complaint.

Free Football Handicapping contests registering

09.06.2010 has a number of free Football Handicapping contests registering.

NFL Contest #1: SBR's signature Beat The Prick contest gives away $10,000 in cash or SBRpoints per week, plus a $10,000 season-ending Grand Prize.
NFL Contest #2: Win a weighted portion of $1,000 per week based on your scores against others, in the $1,000 Weekly NFL Contest.
NFL Contest #3: This 2010 NFL Contest gives away both $1,000 per week and $6,000 at the end of the regular season for contestants that fair the best against an SBR handicapper.

WSEX update - player reports payment


A WSEX (SBR rating D) player reports a $2,500 payment. The player requested his withdrawal more than two months ago and reports receiving his funds through Neteller. This is the second WSEX payment report this week. WSEX is currently slow-paying $247,500+ to 54 players that have filed sportsbook complaints.

Stryyke complaint reaches SBR mailbox


A new Stryyke (SBR rating D-) complaint has reached the SBR mailbox. A player asked for a withdrawal of €692 in mid-April and has not received payment. Stryyke's slow-pay amount has now exceeded €30,000. Stryyke should be avoided by players.

Free Football Handicapping Contest $10,000 per week


SBRforum's Beat The Prick football contest begins Tuesday September 7th. The contest has a $10,000 weekly pot which is divided among all contestants that outscore "The Prick".  

Step 1: Each week SBRforum's mascot, The Prick, enters 4 picks on NFL/NCAAF sides & totals.

Step 2: Players then enter their picks through SBR Contests, SBR's free contest software, and attempt to post a better record than The Prick. Contestants that finish better than .500 after 4 picks and whose record is at least 0.01 greater than The Prick's receive a weighted portion of the $10,000 pot. The grand prize after 15 weeks of play is $10,000 divided among the top 5 finalists.

CentreBet bonus dispute


CentreBet (SBR rating B+) refuses to honor a sign-up bonus. In late August, a player opened a new account with CentreBet after viewing an attractive bonus offering. The offer required that the player deposit and make one wager. After the 1st wager, the player was to receive a free bet in the amount of his initial wager (up to £40). The player proceeded to deposit and make a wager of £40, however CentreBet declined to offer the bonus. Per the player, CentreBet insisted that player needed to click on a special link to redeem the offer as well as use a promotion code. SBR reviewed the promotional page offering the bonus and found that the only requirement was that a code must be entered (which was done). SBR is discussing this bonus dispute with CentreBet.

TheSportsbook enters the SBR Rating Guide at C+


TheSportsbook enters the SBR sportsbook rating guide at C+. The book  is the newest member to the Great Bet Gaming Systems platform, which also powers and shares ownership with BetEd (SBR rating C+). TheSportsbook tells SBR that Great Bet Gaming is supplying a full turnkey solution that includes processing, player and odds management, as well as customer support. TheSportsbook states that it intends to be player-friendly and give bettors the benefit of the doubt with disputes however, with BetEd as decision maker behind player management, these goals may be overly ambitious. | BetEd voids winnings

Brobury Sportsbook adds SBR Feedback form to website; upgraded to B-


Brobury Sportsbook players continue to provide postive feedback since the sportsbook was last upgraded in March of this year. The sportsbook remains in good standing and along with, BetUSA (SBR rating B-), is an alternative for players that are fond of the platform but adverse to risk. BroburySports  is a medium sized sportsbook running on the platform. Brobury management has agreed to SBR arbitration and has placed the SBR sportsbook complaint form directly on their contact us page. Confidence in player feedback, which SBR will use for future evaluations, is a positive sign. Brobury is located in Costa Rica and uses World Gaming software.

Stryyke locks players account


Stryyke (SBR rating D-) locks a player's account which held a €607 balance. In July a player opened an account with Stryyke and increased his balance to €607. Stryyke locked the account on July 23rd and asked for the player to confirm his identity. The player immediately responded and provided all requested documentation. The player's account has been locked for 6 weeks. Stryyke has not responded to the player or SBR. Stryyke currently has numerous unresolved sportsbook complaints regarding locked accounts, slow-pays, and voided winnings.

Among the early chatter at the 2010 SBR Bash Poker Tournament was that SBR poster RonPaul2008, second-place finisher in the 2009 tournament, was entered this year again, and many observers openly wondered how he would fare. Well not only did he do well once again, he bested his 2009 performance, winning the 2010 tournament and claiming the top prize of $2,000.



Bet770 bonus complaint


Bet770 (unrated) has limited a player's wager limits to 0. A player wrote in to SBR stating that in June of 2010 he deposited €175 to Bet770 for a 100% cash bonus. He then increased his balance to €514 after making several wagers. With €750 left to rollover, the player states that Bet770 limited his account to a 0 wager limit on the premise that the sportsbook was investigating his play. Bet770 has since failed to offer any explanation to the player or SBR.

Bet770 also has a sportsbook payment complaint on file from July 4th. A player requested a withdrawal of €8142 through Moneybookers and never received payment.

WSEX pays player $1,000


A WSEX (SBR rating D) player that requested a $1,000 priority check on May 1st has been paid. The player informed SBR that he was offered a $1,000 Moneygram free of charge in place of the check on August 10th. Players with payout updates or new complaints against WSEX are asked to write to WSEX is currently slow-paying $250,000+ to 55 players, with the earlier withdrawal delay dating back to October of 2009.

BetWay winnings forfeiture case update


BetWay (SBR rating D-) has addressed the sportsbook complaint reported by SBR on August 21st. BetWay confiscated €2,453 in winnings from a player that deposited €500 on April 1st. BetWay accused the player of operating his account within a "shared environment". Following SBR's inquiry into the situation, BetWay stated that the player did not share an IP or physical address with any other account holder, but that his computer was flagged as being connected to other accounts. SBR is still discussing the winnings confiscation with BetWay. To date the player has not confirmed receiving his €500 deposit back.
