2022-23 NFL Power Rankings

1. Los Angeles Rams

The NFC West isn’t as daunting as in previous years, and head coach Sean McVay has all his stars back in Hollywood for the 2022 season.

Over 10.5 Wins - 85% of the betting handle is on the Over

2. Buffalo Bills (Previous Ranking: 3)

Anything short of winning the Super Bowl will be a disappointment for the Bills. Now, it’s just up to superstar quarterback Josh Allen and the well-rounded roster to pull off the feat.

Over 11.5 Wins - 88% of the betting handle is on the Over

3. Kansas City Chiefs (Previous Ranking: 2)

While there’s been considerable offseason turnover in Kansas City, QB Patrick Mahomes boasts a 50-13 regular-season record, so taking a run at another Super Bowl is definitely in the cards.

Over 10.5 Wins - 53% of the betting handle is on the Under

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

As long as Father Time doesn’t catch up with Tom Brady at age 45, the Bucs will be the team to beat in the NFC. The roster is loaded, after all.

Over 11.5 Wins - 58% of the betting handle is on the Under

5. Los Angeles Chargers (Previous Ranking: 7)

The Chargers are as talented as any team in the NFL. All that remains is making noise in the playoffs, and third-year quarterback Justin Herbert is ripe to lead the way.

Over 10.5 Wins - 54% of the betting handle is on the Over

6. Green Bay Packers (Previous Ranking: 5)

Green Bay has back-to-back MVP QB Aaron Rodgers to give opposing defenses fits, and their own defense is going to stymie opposing offenses.

Over 10.5 Wins - 65% of the betting handle is on the Over

7. Baltimore Ravens

After the Ravens sustained the second most man games lost last season, they’re positioned for a rebound showing in 2022. Just how dramatically Baltimore bounces back is in quarterback Lamar Jackson’s hands.

Over 9.5 Wins - 95% of the Betting Handle is on the Over

8. Cincinnati Bengals

While almost everything turned up in Cincinnati’s favor last year, addressing the offensive line during the offseason was a good first step toward the Bengals being a contender again in 2022.

Over 9.5 Wins - 70% of the betting handle is on the Over

9. Denver Broncos

Expectations skyrocketed with the offseason acquisition of QB Russell Wilson, but can the Broncos make a championship run outside the daunting AFC West?

Over 10.5 Wins - 56% of the betting handle is on the Under

10. Indianapolis Colts (Previous Ranking: 14)

Just how much 14-year veteran quarterback Matt Ryan helps the Colts won’t be known immediately, but Indianapolis is the consensus favorite to win the AFC South for a reason.

Over 9.5 Wins - 98% of the betting handle is on the Over

11. Dallas Cowboys (Previous Ranking: 10)

Dallas has oodles of talent throughout the roster. The problem has been winning big games, and the NFC East isn’t the cakewalk it was a season ago.

Over 10.5 Wins - 91% of the betting handle is on the Under

12. Philadelphia Eagles (Previous Ranking: 15)

Speaking of the improved NFC East, Philadelphia has everything in place to continue climbing these rankings, especially with a soft opening schedule.

Over 9.5 Wins - 96% of the betting handle is on the Over

13. San Francisco 49ers

Until second-year quarterback Trey Lance proves he’s capable of commanding the offense, the 49ers are a difficult team to judge. The potential is obviously there after reaching the NFC Championship Game last year, though.

Over 9.5 Wins - 50% of the betting handle is on the Over

14. Arizona Cardinals (Previous Ranking: 20)

Arizona opens with a tough three-game start. On the bright side, inking franchise quarterback Kyler Murray to a five-year contract extension concludes that potentially messy situation.

Over 8.5 Wins - 94% of the betting handle is on the Under

15. Tennessee Titans (Previous Ranking: 11)

Sure, the Titans earned the No. 1 seed in the AFC last season, and head coach Mike Vrabel is probably an underrated head coach. But the Titans are also one of the most chalky teams to go Under their win total.

Over 9.5 Wins - 79% of the betting handle is on the Under

16. Cleveland Browns (Previous Ranking: 14)

Until quarterback Deshaun Watson’s status is known, it’s difficult to truly evaluate the Brownies. Still, they have a soft opening schedule, and the defense and running game are going to shine.

The Cleveland win total is off the board at BetMGM

17. Miami Dolphins (Previous Ranking: 16)

Even with the additions of head coach Mike McDaniel, wide receiver Tyreek Hill and offensive lineman Terron Armstead, is Miami a legitimate playoff contender?

Over 8.5 Wins - 91% of the betting handle is on the Over

18. New Orleans Saints (Previous Ranking: 17)

The NFC South probably got tougher with the Carolina Panthers trading for quarterback Baker Mayfield, yet the Saints remain the second-best team. New Orleans likely isn’t a threat to win a playoff game, though.

Over 8.5 Wins - 89% of the betting handle is on the Over

19. New England Patriots (Previous Ranking: 18)

How much longer can head coach Bill Belichick overachieve in the wins column with a collection of mediocre talents?

Over 8.5 Wins - 50% of the betting handle is on the Over

20. Las Vegas Raiders (Previous Ranking: 19)

While it’ll be an uphill battle to earn a postseason berth out of the AFC West — and AFC at large — the Raiders should be in the conversation all season.

Over 8.5 Wins - 75% of the betting handle is on the Over

21. Minnesota Vikings

Is bringing in first-year head coach Kevin O’Connell enough to elevate the Vikings above a middle-of-the-pack finish in the NFC for a third consecutive year?

Over 8.5 Wins - 95% of the betting handle is on the Over

22. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh faithful might not realize it yet, but the team is probably better with QBs Mitch Turbisky and Kenny Pickett than it was with retired signal-caller Ben Roethlisberger. The rest of the pieces are in place.

Over 7.5 Wins - 54% of the betting handle is on the Under

23. Detroit Lions

Even with all his shortcomings, Jared Goff has succeeded in a game-manager role in the past. So, with the Detroit rebuild appearing to be headed in the right direction, it isn’t shocking to see bettors attracted to the Lions going Over their listed win total.

Over 6.5 Wins - 95% of the betting handle is on the Over

24. New York Giants (Previous Ranking: 27)

If first-year head coach Brian Daboll can revitalize QB Daniel Jones’ career and help him utilize his plus-athleticism, the Giants might just be back on the right track.

Over 7.5 Wins - 55% of the betting handle is on the Over

25. New York Jets

With just six wins over the past two seasons, it’ll be difficult for the Jets to be worse in 2022 — but just how much improvement do you expect to see in the wins column?

Over 5.5 Wins - 86% of the betting handle is on the Over

26. Jacksonville Jaguars

With an upgraded roster around him, and head coach Doug Pederson replacing Urban Meyer, franchise QB Trevor Lawrence surely has to take a step forward and win more games this year.

Over 6.5 Wins - 84% of the betting handle is on the Under

27. Washington Commanders (Previous Ranking: 24)

Defensive end Chase Young is expected to start the season on the PUP list after tearing the MCL and ACL in his right knee in Week 10 last season. It’s a huge blow for a team that can’t afford many hits to the roster.

Over 8.5 Wins - 64% of the betting handle is on the Under

28. Carolina Panthers (Previous Ranking: 30)

Trading for quarterback Baker Mayfield should prove to be an overall positive for Carolina. But are the Panthers going to actually have a winning season? Their last was in 2017.

Over 6.5 Wins - 86% of the betting handle is on the Over

29. Seattle Seahawks (Previous Ranking: 28)

How long before the Seahawks complete a full roster overhaul and rebuild?

Over 5.5 Wins - 60% of the betting handle is on the Over

30. Houston Texans (Previous Ranking: 29)

Adding a slew of draft picks from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for QB Deshaun Watson looks better and better by the day. Now, the team just needs to find a new arm to build the franchise around.

Over 4.5 Wins - 62% of the betting handle is on the Under

31. Atlanta Falcons

At least tight end Kyle Pitts and WR Drake London should deliver weekly highlight-reel plays because there won’t be a lot else to look forward to on Sundays in Atlanta.

Over 4.5 Wins - 63% of the betting handle is on the Over

32. Chicago Bears

The real question ahead of the 2022 season for the Bears is whether they'll be ready to target a franchise quarterback in the 2023 NFL Draft?

Over 6.5 Wins - 90% of the betting handle is on the Under

The Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Commanders have seen their win total change at BetMGM, so the betting handle percentages might not fully reflect the action on the listed win total.
