Topbet Sportsbook Player Waiting for 8 Months


Update 1/20: Topbet has said that the player is being offered an alternate payout method. A Topbet Sportsbook player has reported waiting for a period of eight months for a $1,600 withdrawal. Topbet has informed the player on multiple occasions that they are waiting for a tracking number to be provided before they can confirm when the payout will  be made.


The U.S. Department of Justice has issued a memo on the Wire Act earlier this week, written by Assistant Attorney General Steven Engel. The opinion reinterprets the Wire Act to apply to all forms of interstate gaming, not just sports betting, making it illegal if conducted across state lines.


Bookmaker William Hill has dropped its lawsuit that alleged FanDuel blatantly plagiarized its “how to bet” guide. In a federal court filing, William Hill U.S. dismissed its suit against FanDuel voluntarily. A portion of the money William Hill received as part of the settlement will be used to fund creative writing classes.


World famous Madison Square Garden, home to many memorable sports and pop culture moments, is laying the groundwork to enter the sports betting world. The venue’s management last week sought to trademark “MSG,” an indication it is preparing a launch into the burgeoning sports betting market.


An LSbet Sportsbook (SBR rating D+) player has filed a payment complaint. The player has a balance of €30,000 with the online sportsbook. He deposited a total of €10,000 and has received one payout for €1,100. He has not been given a time-table on when he will be paid. SBR has asked LSbet for comment.

 Two Atlantic City casinos have been fined by the Garden State for breaking sports betting regulations during college football season. Caesars Entertainment and Golden Nugget Atlantic City were both hit with penalties by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement  for accepting wagers on games played by NJ colleges.

Topbet players have reported consistent slow payouts, in some cases waiting for more than six months to be paid, since the betting site was dropped from C- to D in mid 2016.

The Washington, D.C. Council voted 11-2 on Tuesday to bring legalized online and in-person sports betting to the district. The Sports Wagering Lottery Amendment Act of 2018 must go to Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) for her signature and then on to Congress for its approval before betting can begin.


The sports betting business is booming in New Jersey – nearly $1 billion wagered since June – with the amount of money bet increasing for the fifth consecutive month, according to state officials. With that pace, the Garden State is on track to out wager Las Vegas, becoming the sports betting epicenter of the U.S.
