I’ve followed this kid since he was a freshmen at Florida U in 2019. He played #5 singles on that NCAA championship team. Since then he has ascended to #1 singles at Florida, won the 2022 NCAA singles championship, won his first pro match and then took Isner to 3 sets in that tournament. I watched hm beat Sonego yesterday and destroy Rudd today. The kid has the full game and seems to have a great head on his shoulders. Obviously a lot can go wrong as his future unfolds, but at 19 years old it’s hard to not get excited about him. He could be the future of American men’s tennis if he continues to progress at anywhere near the rate he has the past 3 years.
