    Giorgi -2.5 over Van Uytvanck
Van Uytvanck has been winning by the skin of her teeth. She even broke 3 Match Points against Schiedlova. I've watched her live and am not impressed with her.

Giorgi, on the other hand, is at the top of her game and is ranked higher than she ever has been before and finished off her first 2 opponents in 2 sets each.

These 2 met earlier this year in April and Giorgi won 6-2, 6-1. I'm going to have to have a name for that angle. Maybe I'll call it the nuxx angle!

Qwang wins yet again in a match that was delayed from yesterday due to rain with Qwang leading 5-2 in the 2nd set. I hope you guys are paying attention to this rising star of the East.

    Sabalenka and Gasparyan both lost.

    Q. Wang over Muguruza
Mugu hasn't beaten anyone better than #61 in a long time.

Going with Wang who just put away #5 ranked Svitolina decisively in 2 sets.

No one can beat this Wang.

    ;-)

    Giorgi wins decisively too.

I don't know if anyone read my previous post but I'm trying to make fewer picks. In the past I have making picks that I thought were somewhat close. Now I'm making picks I think have a much better chance of winning. I've said this before and get overconfident so let's see if I stick with it.

    Qwang -4.5 over Yastremska
Yastremska is 18 years old and appears in the finals of the Hong Kong tournament mostly because she has not faced a seeded opponent.

Qwang will be too much for her here.

Thanks Mike. This one goes off at 1am Pacific Sunday morning. It isn't as strong as the other ones because of the large spread but the -298 is pretty safe. It's a lot of juice so I didn't want to post it.

I also put a little on the -1.5 sets at -130 but that doesn't count as an official play.

This is Wang's tournament to win. She has been tearing up the Asian circuit winning Guanzhou but failing in the semi-finals of Hiroshima and Wuhan. A victory here will cement her rankings in the WTA.

This is the first finals for the 18 year-old Ukrainian Yastremska.

Qwang is obviously gassed from last night's 3-set victory. I bought out this bet at -7.5 for Yastremska leading 6-2, 3-0. Its really a no-contest. She was spraying the ball all over the court with no contest from Qwang.

This really was no contest from the beginning with Yastremska winning 6-2, 6-1. I feel I learned something after seeing her commanding shots with no effort from Wang in that I could buy out the bet based upon her dominance.

    Only 1 so far.
    Rus -3 over Fett
I've been waiting for this one for a bit. Fett ran into a losing streak of 5 straight before winning her last 2. However, her last 2 victories were against the #330th ranked player and a walkover. Prior to her losing streak she beat the #490th ranked player.

Rus' last 2 victories were 6-1, 6-3 and 6-2, 6-3 so she's shown she is serious about winning in this tournament.

Winner. I was concerned at first since Fett was up 4-0 in the 1st set.

    Here's another one:

    Sevastova -1.5 sets over Rybarikova

I believe Rybarikova may be injured so this may be canceled but I'm going to try it anyway. She has lost 0-2 sets in her recent matches.

I mentioned previously about looking at Rus' performance to see if she was serious so I kick myself when Sevastova almost loses this match. I was rooting for Rybarikova so I could fade her next match.

What the hell, I'm going to go with this anyway.

    Siniakova -4 over Larsson
In my last post I didn't wait to see if Sevastova was serious about her tournament. She turned in a poor performance against a weak opponent and almost got beat. So instead of being cautious to wait to see if Siniakova will take her first match in the tournament seriously I've decided to bet on her anyway.

I've been fading Larsson every chance I can get. I believe she may be injured. She's only won 4 times in her last 15 matches. Two of those have been to 2 other players I believe may be injured: Voegele and Cornet.

Siniakova lost her last 2 matches but they were to a streaking Alexandrove and to #2 Woz. She's only been losing to top players.

Here's another one where I throw caution to the wind with a player in her the first match of a tournament.

Muguruza -1.5 sets -187 over Voegele
As I mentioned in the previous post, Voegele seems injured to me. She was double-bageled in one match and withdrew in another.

One more. I know I said I was going to make fewer bets but this one caught my eye.

    Petko +119 over Van Uytvanck
I've been fading Van Uytvanck. Petko finished strong in her last tournament only to get steamrolled by a shooting star (Alexandrova).

I take her in spots. I'm looking more for matches that are one-sided like with this last one. I think the Siniakova match will be too close so I'll stay away.

Bertens over Sasnovich/Karolina Pliskova over Zvonareva (parlay)
This is a parlay that is taking Bertens and Pliskova to go on to the next round. Both are still in contention to make the finals in Singapore as you may see from my write-up in the Sloane Stephens thread here:
    https://www.sportsbookreview.com/for...01-jabeur.html

There were 3 spots left among 4 players. Stephens learned recently that she tied up one of those spots leaving 2 spots between Svitolina, Pliskova and Bertens. Svitolina is not playing in this tournament leaving only Pliskova and Bertens able to get point to hopefully outscore Svitolina in the points race.

I've been noticing lately when the ladies have lost the first set badly or else in a 5-7 set they tank the 2nd set and lose by at least 3. One exception was Blinkova.

I won't include this in my total but I took Yastremska live @ -6.5 after she won her first set 6-2 and was up 2-0 in the 2nd. She ended up winning that set 6-3.

I did Live Betting because of my previous post. It seems 6-3 in the 2nd set is the best these ladies get after losing 6-2 or worse in the first. I bet accordingly and Siniakova only gave enough effort to get to 6-3 in the second.

You're right about the Alexandrova match being unique.

Yeah i was watching it, Alexandrova hit like 5 balls on the line in one game, which tilted Petkovic in the second set, and she just couldnt recover after that. Also Alex had some HUGE lucky net cords, basically everything went in her favour.

    Kontaveit -3.5 over Jabeur
Jabeur has won her last 5 in a row and 6 out of her last 7. My, my, my! But she hasn't beaten anyone of note except #61 Makarova who lost 3 straight matches before and Sloane Stephens who showed up just for the money and tanked the match.

Kontaveit has won 8 out of her last 10 including victories over decent players.

This match features a difference of talent here.

Loss) Bertens over Sasnovich/Karolina Pliskova over Zvonareva (parlay)
Even though she needed the points for the finals Bertens didn't even show up.

    Loss) Kontaveit -3.5 over Jabeur
Looks like Jabeur is on a roll. On another note mentioned previously, once Kontaveit lost 5-7 she tanked the 2nd set.

The nuxx theory rises again! Genie didn't even play her last time. I think Petko got inside Genie's head.

I'm going to have to put some down on Petko. Keep in mind that some of these streaks that players like Genie have are against qualifiers.

From what i understood she twisted some musle in her left thigh, causing her to not be able to move at all, nor serve.

On the other note, i think Tsitsipas is a lock for tomorrow. 35 year old Kohli played two physical matches in the past two days and both of them lasted more than 2.5h and im pretty sure she cant handle another one against Tsi.
