    Thiem (+485) vs Nadal (-670)

Does Thiem have any chance? Crazy amount of juice on Nadal considering Thiem beat him last year in straights on clay.

Nah Thiem's in ok form. Nadal could win in 2 though. When Thiem has beaten Nadal it isnt just because of his backhand but his forehand too. His forehand this tourney hasnt been quite as impressive as its been in his wins against Nadal.

you need to know the diffrence between the clay courts .... Thiem won because Nadal wanted time off befor the french open.. wasnt a true win

Dimi has no chance either, you have to hit winners to beat Nadal especially on clay, Grigor cant to that nowhere near enough.

Well most tennis fans think Thiem is the 2nd best clay courter, and you see what Rafa did to him. So that juice doesn't surprise me. Nadal on clay is a level no other tennis player has been at.

Its not worth a shot. Only shot you have is Nadal gets injured but doesnt retire and keeps playing and lose, he's done that more than once in his career. Other than that there's more of a chance that the sun doesnt rise in the morning than Grigor beating him tomorrow.

I shouldnt be so hard on Grigor, there is a chance hence odds and had I seen him playing aggressively this week like he does when he's in great form then Id give him a shot at a set, but he isnt that Grigor right now. He's also played 79 games this week compared to Nadal's 47.

Grigor playing aggressively but not gonna be enough. Should mix in quite a few drop shots. Very hard to beat a Nadal who is standing 8 feet behind the baseline by trying to hit past him unless you have great power.

like I said before the last time Thiem got thrashed by nadal, his forehand wasnt in form, his forehand is the key against nadal not just the backhand, need both, a month later and forehand in great form now

conditions much different comparing to Monte carlo. Altitude is a factor here. Much easier for aggressive players to hit through defenders then in slow conditions at sea level. Also the reason why we are seaing guys like Anderson and Isner this deep in tourney.

I'd say it's combination of both. Conditions not favoring his style vs Rafa's and also him being much more confident atm, then he was back then.

    Took Thiem live @+900 set1 2:1 score.

Figuered Thiem one of the best clay players + added streak pressure for Nadal + Madrid is also pressure playing infront of his home people. This wont be a factor in RG though.

Please don't compliment me. Not won yet + it's a after call.

    I know that

It became something like a post record break pressure.
Media and fans hyping it up talking all the time. Other pro's ongoing props for Nadal's achievement etc.

Thiem might be a great play to make final of FO if he is is bottom bracket...He is off the board at most shops to Win FO but dropped like 9month preggo at Bovada down to +550 after being over +1000

This was probably a tank job. Rafa played at an insane level to get the consecutive clay sets record. Then very next match he plays like that? lmao...

Smart betting on Thiem. Anyone that knew the dynamic going into the match (with Rafa already having the record) would have known a let down and saving himself for RG was a distinct possibility.

Except rafa isn't a kind of player who tanks, like EVER. He already had some issues with schwartzman in the earlier round, most likely fatigued.

I think Rafa doesnt lose a set in RG. Madrid is way faster than RG, due to altitude. Don't think anyone stands a chance against Rafa there.

Rome is business as usual for Nadal? He looked old and slow against Thiem, who in turn could compete but couldn't hope to beat Zverev. What's going on here?
