    Halep’s serve is what made the difference yesterday.

    Ankle was just fine to hold up against Kerber (more athletic than Woz)

    Fatigue - good point, but she’s more physically able to combat that than anyone on tour.

    Wozniacki has been shaky at times, whilst expected Pliskova/kerber to exploit Halep's ankle. Only thing out of character was her weak serve. Woz always looks like the fav until the final. No. 1 wins 2 - 0

    It’s about form, fitness, first serve consistency, and a touch of luck. Most are seeing a player that is in good form, is healthier than you are indicating (based on the eye test and results over the past week), and appears mentally stronger than in past GS events.

    Outlasting Davies wasn't a huge achievement, her showing versus Kerber & Pliskova was! Woz owns the h2h; mental edge isn't a factor in wta unless its Serena. Last season both fell short at key moments and have a chance to right that...

    The game is mostly mental on the women side imo. With women the mental is bigger than form in my opinion. Its why we see women dominate sets then lose the next easily, sometimes 6-0, 0-6. With each point their mind can affect they way they play, theyre like waves or the wind. With that said this match prob wont be like that until points are tighter at games like 4-3, 4-4, 5-5 and tiebreaks. Halep has hit herself pretty much into form in this tourney, she's still not at peak form though. When she's at peak form she's hitting those wicked pushing shots thats putting her opponent off the court consistently. Dont forget Woz lost 7 straight finals last year.
