New member, thread mainly for myself to be able to track/add reasoning to my selections throughout the year. Will generally look to be flat staking unless its an acca, and will also be playing cricket markets.

Todays writeups as follows:

Thiem (1/3) to beat Bedene x Lopez/Ram (1/3) to beat Basilashvili/Haider Maurer
Double on the above 2 selections. Bedene was somewhat fortunate in the first round against Jaziri where he almost blew a first set lead. Thiem on the other hand took a little bit of time to get going against Donskoy but managed to find more of a rythym as the match went on. Matchup should favour Thiem who has more power on both wings, and should be able to ultimately hit Bedene off the court should he keep the errors down.

Lopez/Ram are the seasoned doubles pairing in this matchup. Both solid servers and good vollyers of the ball when at the net. Expect experience to prevail and for the duo to win this match comfortably.

10pts doubles at 1.77 with various

Murray/Soares (2/9) to beat Coric/Struff x Gojowczyk (8/13) to beat Berrettini
Similar reasoning to the above doubles bet. Experience/class to prevail here on a seasoned doubles team. Coric involved in a real long match against Carreno Busto yesterday, and Struff also needed 3 sets to beat Berdych. Do not expect them to invest as much into this doubles match considering both have singles games also. Should be a comfortable 2-0 job.

Gojo a very strong play today. Berrettini came through in 3 against Troicki and was somewhat forunate with Troicki coughing up a lot of unforced errors on big points. Gojo a strong server who will go for his shots, should be able to get Berrettini on the defensive from the offset here. Beat arguably a better player in the first round and is ranked higher than his opponent. Fancy him for the win here.

Hyeon Chung to beat Kyle Edmund 10pts at 1.8 (-125)

Expecting a big year for Chung after his year end performance at the next gen finals. Head to head reads 1 a piece. Edmund coming off a 3 set win against Shapalov, and Chung having dispatched of G Muller in straight sets. Chung if motivated should have no problems in getting the first strike in a rally against the Edmund serve and I fully suspect his superior movement to win the day here. Can see him frustrating Edmund into making many unforced errors.

Rublev to beat Coric 10pts at 2.1 (+110)

Rublev beat Coric on an indoor hard court towards the end of last year and today sees a repeat of this match. Expect Rublev to be too good once more. Coric was lucky in the first round where Carreno Busta choked numerous matchpoints to put him out. Expecting Rublev to do the business today backing up a good win against Verdasco.

Rola (1.48) to beat Karlovskiy x Sevastova (1.38) to beat Sasnovich - 10pt double at 2.04 (+104)

Rola has a 1-0 head to head record against Karlovskiy, where he won in Japan last year in straight sets. Suggests he shouldnt have any problem with humidity etc in Asia, as this match takes place in Thailand. Rola has got to this stage without dropping a set, and didnt even face a break point in his last match. Karlovskiy has come through 5 rounds to get to this stage compared to Rola's 2 matches. Thinking here is that fatigue may also play a part at some point with the increased court time. Better ranked player, positive head to head, situational advantage - strong play in my opinion.

Sasnovich has done incredibly well to get to this stage with the qualifier now in the semis. She has won 6 matches to get to this stage so is on quite a roll. However, similar to the above play - fatigue has to play a part sooner or later. Her last 3 matches have all been 3 setters. Sevastova is ranked well above her and should really be coming through this comfortably. Only been broken twice in 3 matches (impressive by wta standards) and is yet to drop a set. Again should win comfortably.

Brisbane Heat to beat Perth Scorchers BBL - 10pts at 1.72 (-139)
Perth Scorchers resting Mitchell Johnson here who is the spearhead of their bowling attack early on. Still missing several key batsmen in the side, and may well take their foot off the gas a little as they sit top of the table. Brisbane Heat on the other hand look to have far too much firepower on this occasion. Lynn, McCullum as destructive an opening parternship as you will get. Ross/Burns in top form. Bowling also coming together nicely. A very strong spot play here.

Adelaide Strikers (w) to beat Melbourne Stars (w) - 10pts at 1.57 (-175)
Doubt many people know much about the teams/womens cricket so wont go too far into it. Adelaide strikers are value at even these odds. Would be shocked if they lost. Stars not the same team without Meg Lanning.

3pt Double on both at 2.7

Schnur to beat King - 10pts at 1.91 (-110)

Love this matchup for Schnur, think he wins comfortably. Coming off of an injury towards the back end of last season, Schnur seems to have come into this one fresh and ready to go. 3 very solid wins so far, previous round being against Matosevic who looked motivated and back to form also. Before that he played at a very high level to dispose of Otte and Nishioka - both of whom are ranked above him. H2H reads 1-0 to King, a 2-1 set win back when Schnur was a teenager. I fancy him to reverse that this time and take care of business.

Harrison to beat De Minaur - 10pts at 1.8 (-125)


Really fancy Harrison to get the job done here. De Minaur has had some fantastic results as of late, but Harrison himself is a player on the rise. He seems to have gotten over his serve troubles and is solid enough in that department now. I feel that he will be able to get first strike more often than not in the return games. Main reason however is that I give him a big edge in the forehand department. Should be able to open up more angles and have some success against the De Minaur game.

Don't understand these odds at all. Cornet's serve is awful, which means any half decent player has a chance. Buzarnescu has shown decent form recently and should be favourite in my opinion.

Venus hasnt played a competitive match in a long time. Kerber should be match sharp. Took apart a very well playing Bencic in the hopman cup so her game is in a good place by the looks of it. She should force venus into plenty of errors today. Match being priced up on name alone.

Fancy the Stars to pick up their first win here today. Rashid Khan the obvious weapon/threat for the Strikers, but I fee that the Stars have the players in the middle order to negate this. Must win game and I fancy them to deliver against what is in my opinion a flaky strikers batting lineup.
