Federer ( on purpose ) kept the match close to give the crowd their money's worth

Federer a true Gentleman ... but he needs to stop the charity and get real . Playing to the crowd will get him in trouble . I expect him to push it into Cruise control next match . Tiafoe was pitiful , Federer is # 1 . Expect Federer to roll into the semis aginst Nadal .

I suspect he's trying to encourage the young guns to compete.

What's the best (lowest) price you saw on FedEx live? -1000? -500? Seriously, was he ever in danger of losing the whole thing?..

In which world is Anderson a young fit player? He's a 30yo serve bot!
Thiem sucks outside clay and Pouille is good, but not that good. It took him 5 sets to beat Donaldson today.

Agree 100 percent ... Pouille is good on clay , not on hard courts

I agree about Pouille but don't underestimate Donaldson. He held his own against Isner a couple weeks ago. If it wasn't for Isner's serve and a few unforced errors on Donaldson's part late in the match I think Donaldson would have won.

Agree about Donaldson, just saying that a serious contender outside Fedal would beat Donaldson more easily.

Querrey can definitely make it , but he needs to be focused. His attention span / concentration is a issue . He can beat anybody on the tour , and can lose to anyone on the tour . He can beat Nadal for example in Acapulco , then lose the following week to a player rated 200 + .... trying to bet on this guy is like playing roulette , for betting purposes , it's a crapshoot that should be avoided . Unless you have any specific insight besides him winning in straight sets the other day ?

Fed will win again but this thread is a real stretch.

Back injury is a legitimate concern.

You'd imagine he'd want to keep the matches short if anything.

    There's no gamesmanship.

Against Tiafoe, you can argue that he was rusty.
But now, against a career low Youzhny and with one extra day of rest, there's no excuse to play like that and again need a 5th set. He's probably gonna win anyway, but that's not his normal. Looks like a lot 2013/2016 Federer (back problems).

My fellow tennis betters , don't let Federer fool you , he knows what he is doing . Two back to back 5 sets . Maybe he is hogging the court for his last US open . He could smash Youzny in three fast sets , he is the ultimate manipulator .

Federer is fine , not a problem with his ( back ), federer was practicing yesterday at Central Park . Wants to string these matches out because he is retiring after he wins the US Open . Wants to enjoy his last tournament of his lifetime , can you blame him . If he continued his momentum after the 6-1 start , it would have been boring . But he has everyone talking about him but notice how he keeps winning !!! Even Patrick McEnroe stated he can turn it on like that . Just don't bet sets , stick with the end winner and you will win .

Fed will win US OPEN this year , retire , and he will be on top retiring number 1 in the world . Enjoy his last matches , his career is coming to a end after he wins US Open 2017 !!!!

The odds are not good to start , but at one point they got down to -200 , when Youzny was up 2-1. People are going crazy over Fed , he will blow Feliciano López away next round . He keeps winning and will win it all . This is his last tournament , he is the best of all time !!!!

I just took Nadal -7692 , like a free 100 dollars !!! Nadal and Fed will meet in semis !!
