that must've been some nervous watching in the 3rd period... no matter what anyone says about not caring if they lose, that was a 14k swing on one goal (or no call), and we all care on some level

    congrats!

Thanks to all for the congratulations, much appreciated.

And Mike....yes. Plain old yes. From the drop of the puck in the first period my heart rate likely never got below 110 or so. And every time Nashville had a power play I would pause it, go out to the deck and wait a few minutes and then fast forward through the PP without watching it.

To be honest, I didn't think I would be anywhere near that jacked about the game. I have had a lot of big bets out there before, but this one seemed different. Maybe that is because it was so public and because my description of the game and how it would play out, was so bang on. I wrote about my thoughts in a number of threads and the reality followed the script just so perfectly.

Anyway, thanks again for all of the thumbs up and congratulations.

i've always thought there is something to that... i took the advice in a dilbert book about writing down something specific that you want (and realistic) a bunch of times every day for a month. it was pretty unlikely and it kind of creeped me out when it happened!

Writing it down in public also makes you think about it clearly enough to justify your thoughts. Which people don't always do just pondering on stuff internally.

In a slightly different slant on the same story, about a decade ago I started to tell everyone that would listen to me where I would be in my career in 2 years, 5 years, 10 years and onward. As soon as I started to ell people things changed. I am not sure if they liked my ambition or if they just became aware that I had a plan....but my career skyrocketed after that and I have crushed every goal that I ever set.

Last ywar war I told my company that I would be number one in the country and I closed $110 million in new business. Set a record in Canada that will likely never be approached.

Tell anyone that will listen, think about it all the time and write it down....it works as long as you believe you will get there.
