Who likes Raonic +228 over Murray?

Had my eye on Raonic since he knocked off Federer to win a tourney leading up to the Aussie Open. Took him Sunday night +135 over Wawrinka for a nice cash and think he has a shot in this match. Kid has a monster serve and it certainly appears as though the books believe he has a great chance to advance to the Final with such short odds against the 2nd seeded Murray.

Raonic has had some success against Murray in the past but Murray dominated their only Grand Slam meeting (straight sets at the 2014 US open).

I'll be taking a poke here on Raonic +228 but would love to get some input from the tennis folks here at SBR.

Raonic is a beast but he has no backhand. He frequently leaves half of the court open just begging everyone to hit to his forehand. If Murray plays well he will expose Raonic. Too consistent, too good of a returner (not many free points for Raonic), and he is definitely going to make Raonic use his backhand more. Only way Raonic beats Murray is if he is completely lasered in, and Murray self-destructs, which there is a definite possibility.

I think the odds are right.

I love the over here, was going to start a thread about it as nobody was even talking about this match. I am tempted to sprinkle the Raonic moneyline as well. good luck guys

I like Raonic here. He's looked solid so far, unfortunately Murray has been lights out though.

Like that Milos hasn't seemed to be rattled so far under pressure which has always been a downfall. Obviously it's all about that first serve %, but he's looked decent enough in the return game to challenge Murray especially if he can't find his first serve as his second is WTA material. Raonic needs to go in with the mentality of smoking Andy's second serve though, none of this getting it back in play crap or it'll be over fairly quickly.

Won't say Raonic ML is an unnecessary waste of money, but don't see him overcoming Murray here. Raonic has the serve but he's arguably got nothing else. Murray has the defense and mobility to more than neutralize Raonic's service edge. I'd say Murray in four.

Raonic did improve a lot in mobility and backhand, and his serve and forehand have always been a killer. But Murray is a freaking 4 times Aus Open RUP. Unless Andy just decides he does not want to be humiliated on Sunday and tanks, Raonic has no chance. In a GS SF, these two are not even in the same league.

Decent odd Fed wins game 7, I'll take it he'll want to serve first next set.

Ha yeah I just assumed Novak would hold, which he's doing with ease thus far.

    $1.40 for me.

*Sorry wrong thread thought I was in the Fed/Joker one. Get up Milos anyway.

One thing that has intrigued me about the match up is that Raonic has nabbed a few wins off of Murray but got beaten pretty convincingly in their only slam matchup. I don't know whether it is because Murray struggles to read Raonics Serve or whether his "hit the ball back in play style of tennis" suits Raonic to a tee and allows him to be more offensive.

That said as much as Raonic has shown he has improved somewhat he has still overachieved a tad here. Murray will be a step up on the guys he played including Wawrinka who some said was battling an illness from his third round win. Take that what you will...
Raonics weakness is that he still can't hit on the run due to his poor movement and Nishikori exposed this in the 2014 US Open. Murray can employ a similar tactic outrunning him and out rallying him on the run as there's no way Raonic will keep up with him.
And as always target the second serve which was pretty shaky against Monfils.
I also think Raonic will have to improve upon his decision making which I know can be tough but is pretty poor at times and against Monfils. Murray will run down easy points and make him pay.

so barring any unexpected pregnancy labour from Kim or complications Murray wins this, maybe after losing the first set in four, but will sleep on it And make a proper decision

To complicate that, could it be close to a pick em between Joker and Murray?

Kinda surprised the line is so short. I would've expected it in a best of 3 but in a best of 5 woulda thought Raonic would be more in the +350 range.

The line seems fishy to me, I agree with Seto above, I'd have guessed it at Milos +325/350 as well. That makes me lean Milos, but I can't pull trigger on that.
I can't see Andy sweeping him, or other way around, so that makes me lean to the Over (40.5 is my #).
And also, my book offers a match time bet O/U 185.5 minutes, and I am going to take a stab at the over there, hoping for some longer games.

Murray will be ~+300 vs Djoker; if miracle happens, Raonic will be ~+400.

I agree, that's why I phrased it in a question format and said close to a pick em. It seems there are no underdogs left and the market will probably show it.
