Playing on clay is completely different, when compared to other surfaces. Players usually say that to be successful on clay, they need to learn to suffer on court and find ways to overcome that suffering. The game conditions are usually much slower and there are no free points.
Murray always had a great game style for clay, with his defensive skills, great movement and baseline consistency. However, he didn’t seem to have the proper mindset and that’s one of the reasons why he didn’t won a single ATP title on clay since 2015.
On 2015 everything seemed to change, maybe was the partnership with Mauresmo, but the truth is that Murray played at a very great level on clay and this time he was ready to suffer on court. The British ended the year with two titles and only lost to Djokovic in Roland Garros in 5 sets.
Andy can adapt very well to every surface, but his tennis odds are usually better on clay where he’s often underrated.

Should have a profile on Dustin Brown. Only guy I know you could blindly bet on him as a dog and then fade him as a fav and you would have come out ahead at the end of the year.
