    the Canadian Tennis Federation should have read her the riot act after No-Handshake-Gate #1...to let that Stundkuntt repeat the same embarrassing horseshit a year later (BOTH TIMES getting wiped the next day by the very players she heavily outranked and snottily snubbed for incomprehensibly-stupid "reasons")...SMH embarrassing for her, and for the country's tennis authority to not even attempt to teach this talented youngster that representing your country is different from playing strictly for yourself a la WTA...unfortunately that talented youngster has now become a full-blown spoiled & self-absorbed twat who's lost whatever was special about her game to make people notice her in the first place

    this is "comment dit-on"...LAME, hahaha

    Genie's been in increasing need of a serious gauntlet of kicks in the ass for some time now, especially after her first case of hi-profile Fed-Cup dumbassery (and her dreadful lack of class in the Wimby SF against an injured Halep) but no-one is there in "oh Canada" to give it ...hence the slide accelerates

    she could be another Sharapova...instead she's devolving into a Kournikova

    the coach that brought her up from bubble-gum to T10 in the world...she inexplicably dumped last year at the height of her ranking..just about the time this terrible slide in performance kicked in...apparently she has very-recently changed coaches again...

    the old "if it ain't broke" thing...she got too "hip" for her old coach that went from rags to riches with her...shortly after dumping her original coach, she inadvisedly got too hip to honor a photo-op handshake tradition for players representing their countries (not themselves) in the FedCup ..lot of her problems seem to stem from dumping her longstanding mentor-coach who'd been with her since primary school...the lack of guidance unfortunately seems to have freed her up to begin expressing immature (and snotty) attitudes that'd be best hidden till she grew out of them

    all the talent in the world won't help if things ain't right "between the ears"...

    She's ok, shouldnt have let coach go. Her style is weird, she's ultra aggressive, never comes to net, and is more of a backboard. Watching her in Tour Finals last year was hilarious.

    I was just thinking about this very thing. IMHO, she's shown that she has the talent to be one of the best in the world (2014). The problem since her run in 2014 is her consistency, mental game, and confidence. We still see flashes of what she can do, but she rarely seems to maintain that level for long. Her confidence seems to be very fragile. I've also noticed that she can have a poor attitude (and body language) in adverse situations- she'll mope around the court, look at her coach, slam her racquet.

    Perhaps she didn't really overachieve per se, but could it be that in 2014 she was playing with nothing to lose and less pressure. Then, here come the expectations, endorsements, media, etc.

    She is still young. I hope that she can mature and work out the consistency and mental issues, and be back at the top on a regular basis.

    Ugh. I didn't end up taking Genie, or watching, but it looks like she was up 4-1 in the first set then proceeded to lose 5 games in a row. 2nd set was down 0-5 at one point. Pretty Bouchardish, unfortunately.
