    Noah Rubin

He won an entry into the US Open by virtue of his success in juniors this year.

    He's committed to Wake Forest.

He played Klahn in the first round at Winston Salem.

Lost the first set 6-2, won the second set 6-0, and is getting obliterated in the third set.

65% first service, 47% second service, 1 ace, two double faults

25% first service return, 61% second service return

Rubin was serving at 5-4 in the third, having won four straight games

    he got broken at love

this match is a joke. Klahn and Rubin belong in the WTA with this kind of performance.

first set 8 games, second set 6 games, I guess it only makes sense that the third set goes to a tiebreak

Fading the Clown next round. He won the tiebreak, 7-5

The stream I was watching died when it was 5-3 so I didn't get to see the last few points, but I'm sure it was ugly.

Rubin 1 ace, 3 double faults, 66% first serve, 50% second serve
Clown 7 aces, 10 double faults, 70% first serve, 36% second serve

they combined to break serve 9 times

    2:12:25 match time

He plays Isner so we'll have to stick him in the "to be faded" memory bank b/c he'll be a -1500 dog in his next match.

    yeah that sucks

Isner not the matchup I was looking for next. Isner going to be large chalk and spread probably not a great idea either because Isner does not break guys often, even bums.

but I will be looking to fade him in the future.

might as well give all the stats

second set: 0 aces, 3 double faults, 50% first serve, 23% second serve (!!!)
third set: 4 aces, 3 double faults, 67% first serve, 40% second serve

    Sharapova on Saturday:

1 double in the first, 1 double in the second
I think she had 7 or 8 doubles in the third

Klahn is a beast but has been struggling all year with injuries and will be a while till he's back to his old self. He has made me a ton of money before.

I waited to see if the odds would come down on Isner a little. They went up instead. Overnight went from like -650 to like -750

we can fade Klahn at +money! Kuznetsov may suck on hard, but can't pass this up.

agreed. im on kuz as well although I'm not quite sure what Klahn has done to end up the favorite in this match. let's hope the books were sleeping on this one

Despite being a Klahn fan, I too think theres value on Kuznetsov but as mentioned, he doesn't play much hard court and sucks when he has.

Would say thats the main reason why Klahn is the favourite and also probably cause a normal Klahn would destroy him but he's not himself yet.

Kuznetsov has far more natural ability than Klahn on ANY court. He had a pretty strong showing at Wimbledon. A normal Klahn makes his bucks beating guys like Ito and Smyzcek - not destroying top 100 players. Kuz appears to have mental lapses though.

Klahn was playing challengers only cause his ranking didn't allow him to play ATP and when he did, he got injured. He got to like rank 65ish cause he won so many challengers. Also Smyczek is higher ranked then Kuznetsov and a far better hard court player so saying Klahn only beats players like him is saying a normal Klahn would beat Kuznetsov.

Kuznetsov is exactly the same as Klahn in that all he plays are challengers because of his ranking. Also taking out Wimbledon, he's lost to players ranked 200+ all season and his entire career with the odd decent win here and there.
