    Australian Open '10 Futures

I know it is early and we don't know how many questionable players are training this winter but anyone see any value in the AO '10 lines?

I might play Monfils now and take out some if he makes the round of 16 or greater...

James Blake is garbage. Betting against James Blake is highly +EV.

I see value in Robin Soderling +4200. He's been playing really well, and has a chance to finally win a major in Australia.

Djokovic always plays well on hard court, but there's little value at +700.

I'd definitely lay off Nadal, whose knees might shorten his career permanently soon. He doesn't have the sick mobility he used to, and that's what made him great.

Del Potro is overrated. +480 is a joke for him.

There might be value in Federer +245. He wins 1/3 times for sure, though it obviously depends on the draw. Once the draw is released, I'd be more willing to bet him; I doubt the odds are going to narrow and you'll have a better idea of his chances.

Perhaps some value in Tsonga at +3000. He can beat anyone on his day, especially on hard, and has had success in Melbourne. I see him winning a hardcourt slam in his career, maybe even before Murray.

Oh I agree always drawing, thats why I had the that you left out of the quote. I have been fading the J-Block for a year or more now. He is a chump choke artist.

I agree w/ the potential Roddick play and the anti Del Potro call... Can't get behind Nadal at all here though.

shit i didnt even notice drawings choices to maybe win...i agree Soderling seems like he's always improving and ready to give trouble to a big dog any day but sometimes he can outright suck. Djokovic has been playing great consistently and seems driven enough for the most part to go far.

Soderling hates humidity - Australia is pretty much the worst tournament imaginable for him, thus why he's only made it to the 2nd round a couple of times. The humidity is the same reason he skipped Miami three years in a row (and this year lost easily to Kendrick in the first round).

I agree he has the right attitude for possible majors though. The way he took the game to Federer in the US Open impressed me a lot - the first two sets he had no chance with the wind, impossible for a very flat hitter like him. When it died down he took the third set, and had set point in the tiebreak in the next to level it at 2-2.

Perhaps Wimbledon? His serve is truly nasty there, goes right through the court.

Henin a serious contender in the women. Any good price on Azarenka I will be on as well.

I saw him play on an outside court there over the summer. He hit really well, and it was a wakeup call to me on his play.

The humidity may be a strike against him, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Robin go further given his improvement this year.

I'm a value player and let me tell you, I would not even attempt this play, JB is the worst player on the tour IMO. He is great fade material.

Ice, stay off the firewater and nose candy(or is it rock?) then we can talk.

won't get into your points debt that might be below the belt at this point...

Its nose candy, gonna be awhile until I get off it, so will get back to ya when we can talk.

You can take another shot at me about the point debt, I was stupid and its all on me.

And you are right, I do hate the Joker but in all honesty, I don't see him being competitive at the A.O.

Johny Is has the big serve, but it seems that he always gets dominated by the big names because he can't move that good after the serve. Plus you have to throw in the high likeliness that he might be injured at some point this early on in the season. I like watching his matches because of the big serve, but can't see him getting past the big names.

You gotta think that Tsonga gets a big win this year at some point, this early on in the season might be his best shot.

Like your thinking with Az, also like Dem at +1425, Stosur at +5100, and Venus at +775, locked those 3 plays in about a week ago and might add Az.

I think Djok def has a chance. He was playing some of his best tennis there at the end but was in need of a serious rest.

As for the blake line apparently he does have some backers! It is down to around 25000

Would love to meet these people that have backed Blake, I don't care what price you gave me, I would not back him. You could tell me the entire field has an injury with the exception of him and I still wouldn't, he would find a way to lose it.

As for the Joker, I'm sticking to it that he will not be in the mix at the Aussie Open.
