Ivanovic has been playing well the last year or so

She has more pace on the ball than it looks

Maybe this is the beginning of a decline for Serena

Not sure why we're surprised. Serena in Australia = not a good mix any more. Third straight year she hasn't made the semis.

    You planning to hedge back
It was just a little $20 for fun bet at just under +2000. More fun to watch it play out, win or lose.

Congrats to all the Ana backers, especially the ones that had the guts to play it pre-match instead of live.

Yeah, Serena and Australia is not a good mix. I kept hoping Ivanovic would choke serving deep in the 3rd set. Lost all my earlier live winnings and more on those live bets. Yeah Ivanovic played very well, but Serena was definitely not on the ball today.

Ivanovic was +550 to win the 2nd set and then +330 to win the 3rd. Wow. I wonder if anybody took those bets.

Let's see if Serena will rebound and breeze through the clay court season, as she did last year. I think Aza is a heavy favorite now to win the Aus Open. This is her favorite Slam. Those winter breaks she takes in Belorussia seem to always re-energize her.

Official word. She hurt her back in practice a day ago. Again, something about her prep or fitness early in the year blows. That's three straight years she has bowed out before the semis and her fitness played a role I think each time.

Her coach said it happened. Serena actually has some class despite what most think. She does not blame injury most of the time.

Tennis is the third highest volume betting sport worldwide beaten only by soccer and cricket. And the books these people play at don't tend to have pissy limits on tennis like offshore books do. A lot of people lost a lot of money today.

And yeah EP, people can say whatever they want about Serena but she doesn't make injury excuses. She was just asked about it in her press conference and wouldn't take the bait whereas most people do.

Yeah she admitted it in the end of the interview. She said she was considering pulling out. Still, a classy thing from Serena and Ana did play pretty well.

haha not yet. Surprising as that is for me!

All my tennis energy today though is focused on this Dellacqua/Bouchard match. My worst nightmare: A Canadian vs an Aussie and I really like both players. I actually feel a bit stressed about it all.

I really have my doubts that she will. I've had Dellacqua in my betting slip off and on all day but the only thing that's stopping me is that I'll feel like a massive traitor if I bet against Eugenie. And unlike Stosur, Casey will have the entire crowd behind her and they'll be very vocal with their support. Knowing me I'll throw a bet on Casey 5 minutes before the match starts and immediately regret it so good luck if you bet on Eugenie! The one great thing is I'll be happy with either girl winning.

dude, you should find yourself some other darker tone female player to root for. I for one I am a penetrating racist when it comes to steroid farmed bitches that do a disservice to sport all over this planet of apes. The only thing she's got in her favor is the hair(I kinda like the silkness)

Boo-f*cking-hoo. In the history of nerds of all kinds, they have never ever been able to withstand blaming their loss on something.
