    Gasquet v Wawrika

    I don't mean to be getting ahead of myself, but if these two guys win their way through to the fourth round, a juicy fourth round encounter will be showcased on Sunday local time (Saturday night for those in Europe/America). The #8 seed against the #9 seed, featuring two of my favourite players.

    Surprisingly, these two backhand maestros have only met twice before, with the head to head tied at 1-1. Their last meeting was at Roland Garros in last year's, also in the fourth round, which was an epic. On that occasion, the #2 Swiss player fought his way from two sets down to take the match 8-6 in the fifth.

    I'm obviously really looking forward to (and hoping for) this potential showdown. I'm off to Rod Laver Arena on Sunday, so I'm praying for the scheduling Gods to showcase these two top ten players on the main court.

    If Gasquet is completely over his back injury, I honestly can't call this match. I'll be leaning slightly in favour of Wawrinka otherwise. The prize for winning this match will most likely to be match up against Novak.

    I cant wait for this match. This will be an epic match if Gasquet is healthy. Battle of the two best backhands in the game. i wouldnt lay money on this match.....just sit back and enjoy.

    Their FO match was absolutely epic, especially the end of the 4th set, I never saw as many baseline winners as in this 4th in my entire life.

    I don't see why Robredo would not be able to beat Gasquet though, especially given Gasquet still had a pain in his back.

    If they do meet, Wawrinka will be the winner for sure.

    Wawrinka will probably prevail but it won't be easy if Gasquet is healthy. Gasquet is one of the top defenders in the game imo. Wawrinka is a stronger shotmaker but defensive skills , Gasquet is better.

    Aint happening .....Robredo is very mediocre on hardcourts. If Gasquet is healthy, Robredo will not beat him on hardcourts.
