Arent we about due for a Raonic choke job

Just when everyone starts drinking the Canadian juice this guy always seems to let them down.

I was getting ready to place a bet on the guy, current odds -145 but then thought, wait its Raonic, its the 4th round, something smells funny...

Anybody else thinking he might blow this opportunity against 1-15 Gasquet?

The "he's due" angle... Top level handicapping.

if he keeps serving great (like 30 aces) he will win

only concern is his start time, middle of the afternoon, HIGH humidity has been brutal on the players.

Oh my, gaqa is an old man, hasn't been as impressive and solid as in the start of the year this USO...He can push one or two into the breaker but i think the scenario will be pretty much the same as with lopez.

To start off, it's a really fair line. Gasquet struggles against big servers. He's dropped matches to Isner and Querry, plus the fact that Raonic has beaten him before in straight sets in 2012 leads me to think Raonic takes this.

Well Raonic has probably cost me the most money of any single player in the past 2 years. Never figured this clown out, when I bet him, he goes into his UE fest, when I fade him, he plays like a star.

Probably the hardest match to pick the winner of up until now.

I don't know that you can call a loss for a player who is ranked about even against a more experienced player - a choke job if Raonic does lose. It's not like he's a -200 favorite here. Gasquet has plenty of Slam experience, but his track record shows this is about his level - 4th round. The big server issue rings out for me too. Watching Gasquet this tournament, his serve has slipped in and out of usefulness to where playing someone like Raonic gives him a very, very small margin of error on-serve. He's been letting break points hang out quite a bit the last two rounds. Raonic doesn't have to be highly successful converting them, if he converts 30-40% of the break opps he sees and Gasquet gives off close to ten again like he has the last two rounds ... Raonic is going to win.

That all assumes Raonic's serve will hold up, but it's been on point since a little shakiness in the opening round. Raonic's also a slightly better TB player IMO, although both have been pretty average this year around .500. Gasquet though has lost his last six TBs in Slams, kind of amazing to me.

Are you talking about Raonic? The guy is not winning a major....atleast not in this life time, lay the house on it.

And if you're talking about Gasquet.....
