Hewitt +2.5 sets is a solid play against Del Potro

I can't believe this line is only -120 because Hewitt has a very high chance of taking a set off Delpo today. Delpo's serving doesnt bother Hewitt much and he can read the Argentinean's serve very well. There's been some news about the Delpo wrist injury circulating which can even help our cause. Taking Hewitt to win the match outright may be asking too much but winning a set here is definitely in order.

Taking the Hewitt +2.5 sets at -120 .......best of luck.

Even if the wrist injury is just rumors, Hewitt will still take a set off Delpo. Delpo had a very tough five setter against Garcia Lopez. Hewitt is light years ahead of Garcia skill wise on these hardcourts and if Delpo needed five sets against the Spaniard, he's definitely going to struggle against Hewitt today for at least a set or two.

Nice bet Chief. Del Potro playing very tentative. I don't think it's fake at all, wrist is definitely bothering him or at least mentally he's letting it bother him. He needs to either start ripping his two handed back hand and see if he can handle the pain or take a seat. Hewitt hasn't been exceptional by any means, but Delpo has just played very blah.

Hewitt's been baiting him into hitting a lot of errors on that forehand side. Keeps on hitting it to that side. It's been working so far. DP will probably still end up winning this match though.

Doesn't look like it. Del Potro hasnt really changed tactics and just looks sluggish whether its injury or just general who gives a fukk.

At this point I'm hoping Hewitt can finish it off so we dont have to risk the chance of a Delpo retirement.

Massive break back. Delpo definitely wants nothing to do with hitting that two handed back hand. Almost 100% the one handed slicer. I don't think he will quit.

Yep you're right in that Delpo does not want to hit that backhand at all. Running around the BH every opportunity and slicing everything.

Was that injury on the right or left wrist?

It's a credit to him to sticking in this basically now being forced to have to stay in the match with big serving and his forehand. If he can somehow survive tonight, he'll be fortunate to get someone in Donskoy who won't exploit the problem, but Djokovic will crucify him if not someone like Haas in the 4th round.

Left. No way he could rip his forehand if it was his right. If it was his right, I think the retirement issue would be there.

Wow. Delpo snatches the 2nd set after Hewitt had him dead to right at 5-4 and serving for it. Would like to see him take control here. No offense to Hewitt, but I love me some Delpo.

Even with nothing but slice backhands , Delpo can still take this.

Hewitt isn't moving his feet at all. Looks like he has dead tired legs like Ram did after first two sets today.

hewitt challenging stosur as the greatest choke artist ever apparently. that 2nd set was hilarious, 2 double faults. anybody remember his choke against mahut in that final this year. you can just see the guy shaking out there, what a head case.

already got my set win out of the way luckily

I've been a fan of his since 2009 when he won here. I like Hewitt a lot too don't get me wrong. I just hope when the day comes, Hewitt does it proper and bows out at the Australian Open and makes a great run.

i took a break from tennis for a couple years and missed the delpo run in 09. he just seems lazy and unenthusiastic to me. he has so much potential. The announcer said it best tonight if you took Delpo's talent and Hewitt's mentality you would have a #1 player. I tend to root for guys with a bit more energy. Hewitt/Janowicz even Murray I like a bit because he gets angry. I like some emotion out of the players.

I'd love to see Potro win the whole tournament dont get me wrong. I just would like to see Hewitt get in a groove and make a little run. It would be more historic than Delpo going out in semis if that makes sense. I should really go see one of these matches its going on about three train stops from me.

I don't think it's lazy for Delpo, he's just not a rah rah guy 24-7 and sometimes people think that means he doesn't care, etc. He gets fired up at times, but he's much more like a Roger Federer with his on-court emotion.
