The Jerzy Janowicz Kool-Aid Must Taste Like Moose Piss

Lots of big chalk bettors must be spitting it out right now.

Time to turn it around, the Over Hyped Train might be going off the tracks to Maximo Gonzalez.

Hate is a strong word, I just think he has been well over hyped without consistent results to back "the next big thing" moniker that seems to be attached to him.

Rarely did I read previews for the USO that did not have JJ winning this quarter. He'll be lucky to win this match. This has not been a good surface for him in his young career. I was going to go against him at some point, but figured the 2nd or 3rd round would be the spot maybe to try that. He really got gifted a great draw to go deep, but he's already mucking that up.

the guy has good attributes but at the moment lacks the consistency. I think he's more athletic and has better variety and hands than Raonic. He surely is hyped up but I think he has the potential though if he keeps working at it.

He should still win this. Maximo is an absolute mug on anything other than clay and even on clay, he's not good above the Challenger level mostly.

Jano has activated hulk mode haha. Groaning louder after every shot he hits.

I wasn't watching the match earlier but

Man no wonder he has been losing. He is just rolling his serves in and his back/shoulder is still affecting him.

He'll probably blow his shoulder or elbow out in a couple rounds if he survives this.

I hope not. The guy is fun to watch in my opinion. Gives a bit of spice in matches.

I think its for the best anyway. I think the guy might really blow his shoulder out if he does play 2-3 more rounds like you said.

That's the thing with him. He has to learn how to win without going into beast mode or he's John Isner v.2 with a little more athleticism.

After watching about 30 minutes of that match, he really needs a lot of work. He just puts his head down and hits every ball as hard as he can - he needs a better grasp of point construction. He's still v. young so there will be these growing pains. Still a top talent in terms of raw ability, though. I group him with the likes of Raonic.

A good read on Raonic v. Janowicz as far as what the future holds for the duo.
