gulbis or verdasco? who do you think will win? opinions

would love to hear some thoughts. they haven't played each other on grass, ever.

verdasco playing very well, and has beaten him twice on clay, but gulbis just beat him in spain on clay

Hard to know how well Gulbis was playing today since Tsonga was injured mid-match. Verdasco though I think has played very well lately. Interested to see a line first.

gulbis made a lot of forehand errors, but when he didn't make an error he was pretty amazing. he had good footwork and speed and was getting to some very tough tsonga serves, before the injury. after the injury, yeah that doesn't really count.

I'm guessing he was hurt in the 6th or 7th game of the 2nd set

I'm fairly sure he didn't get injured at any specific point. It wasn't obvious from what I saw, although I might have missed something.

After losing 2:nd he started bitching and called the trainer. He seemed affected by it thereafter to be certain!

I just now recalled hearing Tsonga telling the trainer who asked him how long he'd been having this problem (with his knee), and I think I heard Tsonga say "about a week". They didn't have a mic or anything but I'm fairly sure it was Tsonga's voice and it'd only make sense hearing the question and answer from those two people...

I tend to agree, I think. He must be back on his A.D.D. meds.

Must be the new racquet or else you're right, he's highly medicated. Something's definitely happened though. This sure ain't the guy I made a shit ton blindly fading for ages.

Well I started playing him from Madrid onward in a few spots because he had done an interview saying that he was dedicating himself to turn his season around starting with the "home" tournament. It's not like he's winning titles or necessarily making QFs left & right, but his motivation and play are definitely better.

If he's taking Adderall which is what adults normally get prescribed for ADD, that's gonna hurt his game at some point. It might help mentally but physically its gonna take a huge toll on his body with the constant dehydration, almost nil appetite, and irregular heartbeat. At some point, it's gonna come crashing down physically for him.

I was mostly being facetious. I even think he said in an interview several years ago that he stopped taking meds for it because it made him hazy.

Two mental midgets, however Gulby is far more talented.

Gulbis a slight fav @ -130 right now. Considering putting 390 on him. Remember, before the "new" him, he did knock out Berdych at Wimby. I think he's more determined to make a run here than Verdasco is, plus, it's grass. Going to sleep on it.
